Welcome to the Forum, lots of useful info comes through here.....Some useless stuff too....lol, Enjoy!
Wow, that's a tall order.....NC's a big state and all kinds of attractions.
Personally I like the South West portion of the state for scenery like Mt. Mitchell and the Blue Ridge Parkway. There are a host of hand layed stone archways all along the Parkway in that area, Beautiful!
All kinds of nice little native Brook Trout streams too! Take a lite little rod along
You might have heard of a little thing called NASCAR. It's real big down there. Most of the shops are around Morresville and Charlotte.
Also the NC State Zoo is AWESOME. It'll take you a good day to enjoy and I have to say you will love it.
Then there's the BBQ places...MMMMM. Look up Snooks, Mocksville, Tar Heels, near Sheville and the Lexington in Lexington.
Also try to go to Raylen Winery in Mocksville if you enjoy really good wine at GREAT prices. Awesome tastings are offered daily.
Oh yeah, buy yourself a few bottles of CHEERWINE soda. The best in the world.
And if you want to say thanks to the troops head on down to Ft Bragg.
Home of the 18th Abn Corp, 82nd Abn, Special Forces HQ. and many other units. The AIRBORNE/SPECIAL FORCES museum is located outside of the post in Fayetteville so civilians can get to enjoy it.

Yep. Kind of makes a difference huh? I mean there is the ocean at one end, and the mountains 8 to 12 hours away, on the other end, and lots of stuff in between.
There is the Azelia Festival in. Wilmington.
Come on down, the waters fine. Well not really, but it's not cold here at the coast. There are a mutitude of things to do at the coast from Aquariums, Battleship North Carolina, museums, civil war sites or just plain sit on the baech and relax. Oh did I mention that we have a wonderful fishing and restaurants of all types. If you have never eaten "Fresh Local Seafood", you are in for a treat.
For more info, just GOOGLE North Carolina. and enjoy the "SOUTHERN HOSPITALITY".
Ashville and the Biltmore place. Nice little house to go look at. (plan 2 days at least). Good State park campgrounds, just be back inside before 9 PM.

My vote is for Wilmington or Outer Banks---love Wilmington, old south and USS North Carolina---check out Top Sail or Wrightsville beachs --Outer Banks is well beaches and some of the best sand dunes around---and dont forget to hit a couple of BBQ joints---- definitly get some Cheerwine to go with it and a couple cases to go---wish I could get it here..---from Wilmington its just a hour or so drive down to Myrtle Beach and that is a bonus-----
