I was in the process of cleaning up my TC and doing the maintenance on the Happijac 4500 jacks. Lifted the camper up no noise, started to bring the camper down and I hear my front jacks clicking or popping till it was all the way down. My rear jack were fine no noise. I took off the covers on all 4 jack they all look the same. Can some one tell me how to fix this problem.
Did you have the motor heads engaged? I can't remember if the lever has to be fully up or down to have the motors engaged. Maybe when you were doing maintenance, you moved one.

the clicking is from a overload torque clutch built in to top gear assembly ,if you take the gear cover off there will be a nut on top of a stack of gears this is adjustable by tighting the nut very little ,No more than 1/8 of a turn, each time "Warning" overtightning may cause damage.
Mine only get that ratcheting/clicking sound when you have essentially the entire jack fully drawn up into the outer square tube. I have gotten better at anticipating this point and stop just a hair short of that.
I had this happen to me on a camper many years ago. If it is the same problem that I had you need to feel the temperature of the gears. Touch the gearing and if it is hot (like really hot) then you have a major problem. I had this happen on two jacks and the camper almost tipped over because I was not paying attention. I got use to the clicking sound and the gearing actually seized and was not working (still made clicking sound) You need to either replace the complete gearing or at very least do a major cleaning and lubrication. I removed all the gearing so the jacks could not be manually operated and the jacks worked amazingly well. Probably not a smart thing to do but they sure worked great. If I did it again., I would clean the parts and reassemble. Removing the gearing is not a bad option but you will never be able to use the manual crank. This is not great advice but it does work.
This might sound confusing but when you open up the housing you will see what I mean.
