Parents are buying a 5'er. What are your opinions on towing a 5'er with a 04 Titan truck?

Because of the payload AND towing capacity of the Titan, you are limited to the number of 5th wheels that will work. In fact, there are very few that will work with the Titan.
Most responses will recommend a larger TV or maybe a TT, instead.

No problem as long as they can find one with a FULLY LOADED pin weight that allows them to stay within the trucks rather light payload. Probably would need to be fairly small but some 5th wheels are certainly available. They'd have a lot more choices though with a TT. They'd PROBABLY have to be pretty selective even with a TT though. My own trailer has a tongue weight of 1200 lb. and that's probably more than they should be looking at since it only leaves a couple of hundred pounds for driver passengers and other cargo. Good luck / Skip

That's good advice and why we have a TT. Just last week we went to the local RV show with the idea of upgrading to a 5er. There are a number that will work, but they are smaller and generally less well equiped than TT's that the Titan (or any other 1/2 ton), can handle. Depends in what they want, the choices are expanding though. We are moving to a larger TT, lots of choices there.
