Can anyone tell me about Seaport Campground? Is it hard to get to? Is it decent? All opinions good or bad. Thanks

Ron

We stayed at Aces High CG and it was great!
Didn't get to look at the Mystic Seaport CG....while we were there....but, I must say Aces High is a wonderful CG....if we go back to the area, I'll stay there again.

Here is a video of Aces High CG

It's a reasonably nice campground. Was formerly a KOA. We've stayed there several times, with no complaints. The only word of caution would be to follow their directions to get there. DO NOT look at a map and decide there is a shorter, quicker way. (I'm familiar with the area from working there off and on.)
There's a lot to see and do in the area. Come on up and enjoy New England.

Ron, About 30 minutes away from Mystic is www.odetah.com/home If you don't mind the extra traveling, Odetah is one of the best campgrounds that CT has to offer.

Good luck on what ever choice you make.

Campground was fine, we were there in October last year. Close to the Seaport, clean, firendly, small pool. Nice people, good sized sites.

We were there in September 2005. We stayed at site 48 which was a corner site and very nice. We noticed alot of sites numbered in the hundreds were quite muddy after the rain. The pool was closed, staff was nice. We would go there again.

Don't like the view?? Then change it and Go Camping

If you plan to just spend the night and gamble at Foxwoods, you can park in their remote parking lot overnight. We have done this several times in the past. There used to be more space for RV overnight parking but they are filling that old parking lot up with a new casino expansion.
The last time we camped at Foxwoods, we almost froze. We have a travel trailer and we can't run the heater all night becasue the battery would be dead. Now that we have a nice new quiet Honda generator, I wouldn't hesitate to fire it up to stay nice and warm.
It was so funny that night. Our little dog was so cold that I could feel him shivering near our feet on the bed. I put him between my husband and me under the covers and he spent the entire night there...never moved a muscle. I think it was about 20 degrees INSIDE the trailer that night. It was the coldest night I have ever spent in the trailer.

I've heard good things about Aces High Campground also.
It's on my want to visit list!
