Note to the previous post. If you get under your coach you can readily see why the supporting arms for the front jack will bend very easily. I believe Monaco designed the supports for the front jack believing that all campgrounds are perfectly level where no side/or forward-rear stress will ever come upon the jack system, especially the front support. Mine is bent. Don't know if I contributed to it or if it was already bent since I purchased used. Just another fault in some of the cost cutting measures that go on in design/manufacturing. (I retired from the engineering trade/design. So I have some concept of what it takes to stablize a top heavy unit. What Monaco did to that front jack support, at least on my 2002 unit, would have been considered gross neglect where I retired from.) I appologize for the vent. Good luck to all.

We love the ride. NOT happy with the main slide as it has tore the carpet up and marred (spelling) up the tile. Fighting Monaco about that now. Have owned 4 Monacos in the past 5 years. And truly wish we would not have traded the Knight in. Just our exp.
But as far as the ride? Love it.

You might want to take a look at the Water Remediation issue just posted, relating to the Diplomat units. Evidently, there is still a water leak issue in some of the units.

Believe me, this issue is not brand specific. Fleetwood has just as many leak issues, so don't try to lay this out as a Monaco issue.

Bob, don't know nor will I comment on Fleetwood or Winnebago. Everybody has issues. This person(who started this post) is asking a question and I am simply trying to point out my experience. But....since there was an issue on some of the Monaco units in 2002(don't know about earlier units), mine being one of them, and if you will look at the posts entered yesterday(2-18-2008, under water remediation, 2006 model unit), you will see that another Monaco Diplomat owner is not happy. Now having said that, it appears to me that Monaco still has issues with some of their units leaking. If it is determined that it is a slide sill, well, starting at least back in 2002, there was a problem. That would be at least 4 model years. Somebody at Monaco needs to get their act together. Can't comment on yours, praise the "Lord," you got a good one. Now if I can just find the leak, or where the water is entering under my dinette slide, I will try and repair it. Then I won't be nervious about a wet floor every time it rains. Take care all.

David, I was saying that it is not just Monaco that has the leak problem. Since we bought our first slide model in 1996, we have had a leak(s) in every RV we have owned, including 1 in this one. However, this one was quickly found(not in slide) and has been bone dry since. The 4 Fleetwoods we had, prior to this Monaco product, leaked in the slide areas and windows and never could get them stopped, with all having crumbling particle board flooring and lower walls, when we traded them. I maintain that as long as they are building a house on rails and then driving it on rough roads in a 60+ mph wind, you are bound to have problems including leaks. I know of some 2008 models in all brands that are having leak problems, so it will never end.
In comment to one the posters I know I started the thread about the chassis but I am also glad to hear of the other issues as well. We have a now 9 year old american and have not had the first water leak actually no real problems with coach at all. I did have to replace the radiator but that was because some thing went through it and a governer on the generator. We had a monaco a while back and it was a nightmare so we have been very concerned about quality, but we love the way they look. And I think all things considered they have a lot of good stuff in their coaches for the money. That is why I was looking for feed back on the chassis because they make it in house and we were just worried before we take the leap of faith and buy one. We do like the revolution and plan on taking a real close look at it as I have been reading a lot of positive on the forums about them.
I have been more than pleased for the first 5000 miles with only cosmetic problems. However, pulled into San Antonio, let the super slide out and the complete seal began to peel off. Appears the metal clamps that hold it onto the chassis is rusty (an '08 model) so it came off. NOT a happy camper. Getting fixed tomorrow.
Everybody has their own wants, needs, desires and wishes (as well as belly-buttons and elbows for that matter), but IMHO the Monaco product is great. They design and manufacture their Roadmaster chassis to match the requirements of their coaches.
We have a Dynasty Diamond IV (from DeMartini I may add - great folks to deal with!) and the Roadmaster chassis has and is doing a superb job.
I have owned several other brands of diesel prior to this, and I am very satisfied with the Monaco product and the Roadmaster chassis.
Drive and compare and see for yourself, that is the best way to judge it.
