Yes, you can park your RV at the castle information center. We love to go to Morro bay state beach campground. A beautiful campground. It is about a 25 minute drive up to the castle from there.

San Simeon State Beach has great camping and is about 10 minutes from Hearst Castle. Stay in the developed campground as the facilities are better. There are also the elephant seals about 10 minutes more up the coast to go visit and the beach right across from the castle entrance is beautiful with a pier and long sandy beach.
We go every spring for the windsurfing!

Family of Four with lots of toys!
See if you can stay in one of the guest houses. They have many of them.
2005 Chev 5.3 Supercharged 395HP 425 T hp. Two wheels on front, 2 on back. one seat, tint windows. front and rear bumpers, headlights, windows. Door on each side. Heater, floor mats, junk behind seats, some dirt. Pulls so hard.
I would also recommend Morro Bay State Park and/or San Simeon state beach. Both good choices within easy driving distance to Hearst Castle. Won't be disappointed with either one.
If your staying for one night San Simeon would work. If your staying in the area for more than that - Morro Bay State Park as you can easily bike or walk into the town of Morro Bay for dinner, shopping etc.
Another campground in Paso Robles (also a short drive to Hearst Castle) is Wine Country RV Resort - nestled among vineyards in the wine country of Central California. Wine tasting and some good restaurants round out this town and makes for a nice 1-2 night stopover as well. Also in the area is the little town of Cambria (eat at the Main Street Grille) with cute little shops - a nice place to wander around for a bit.
We LOVE this area and have spent a lot of time up there (want to retire to Paso Robles one day). PM me if you have any more questions.
Both of the campgrounds noted above are good and yes, there is plenty of RV parking at the castle. We parked our 40-foot motorhome + tow car there. Here are photos of our day.
Get there early if you want to tour the castle; last tour is early in the p.m.; we missed it getting there too late....check a day ahead for a tour...great movie at the theater at the reception area....
