Which plan are you asking about? Verizon sells a number of different plans at $60 per month.
If it is a voice plan, it will specify the number of minutes. If it is a $60 300 minute plan, and you use 300 minutes, cost is .20 per minute. It if is a $60 300 minute plan, and you use 30 minutes, cost is $2.00 per minute. Except that only part of that $60 is for minutes, the rest is monthly rate for "included free" services like long distance, caller ID, call waiting, voice mail, weekends and evenings, friends and family, whatever else you bought. Actually, if it is anything like my $60 300 minute plan, the features, access fees, 911 fees, taxes, and taxes on taxes aren't included in the $60, so the monthly bill is more like $100.
If you are talking about a $60 data plan, you have zero minutes. Cost is nothing per minute because you don't have any minutes to pay for, you are buying data transfers. The rate basis is kilobits transfered to and from your device.

Also, be sure to read the fine print. I just cancelled my T-Mobile account and they are charging me $30 as a "disconnect fee" plus another ½ months fees. I changed over on Jan 11th but they charged me for service till the 24th. Looks to be legal under the contract. I'll pay it but everyone that asks how I liked it will get told "the service was lousy" (no service in lots of areas) plus charges I tried to get stopped (text messaging). got "spam" messages and they made me pay for them as well as not being able to turn the messaging off.
Read the contract, lots of "gotchas" in them.

For the $60,we get just about unlimited internet time(there is a limit,but the average person will never reach it)That is using aircard.The phone plan is separate bit of advice...Make sure that you go to a company store,the desk in the bigbox stores and malls know how to sell you a phone,but are pretty much in the dark about data plans..which is what you need for internet.

I agree, over $700 a year is a big hit, but my land line phone bill is absolute minimum as no long distance calls are made on it. We have 7 kids scattered all over the country so you can imagine what our regular phone bill could be.
A good number for all of you to plug into your phones is 1-800-373-3411. That's FREE INFORMATION. It will work on your land line phone too. Sure beats up to $2.00 for information.
If we ever get this house sold I'll have to add another $60 a month for an air card for internet. Between cancelling my internet service and land line it will just about break even.
I have two Verizon plans - one for the phone and one for data access. The phone gets me something like 700 minutes per month at no additional cost, each and every additional minute over 700 are something like $.25 per minute. Any other Verizon user that I call is a "free" call meaning minutes do not rack up against my 700.
The data plan allows me to tether my cell phone and allows me "unlimited" use. That unlimited means that I can surf as much as I want and never worry but those who download videos could reach ther mamimum(unadvertised) lid of something ike 5 gigabytes of information. I went tethered because I am still working, could use the data when on ther road and suspend it(twice a year) and cancel whenever I want to vs a two year comittment for the data plan with aircard. You obviously must have the phone plan to acces their data network via this route.
