My opinion: Northwood Artic Fox (or Nash) or Komfort. Then a Holiday Rambler.

Maybe I missed it but no one spoke of Cardinals. I have a 2005 31RKT and it has been a dream to own.
If your looking for a quality trailer you must also look at what the resale of a given line is. Some lose their value quickly while others maintain the value for longer periods. Look in NADA.com at values of what your thinking on before you spend a lot or a little for a good used one.

Komfort makes an outstanding travel trailer..however, they are expensive and heavy. You might also have trouble finding one east of the Mississippi.

Big Foot makes a very nice TT, but they have limited floorplan options. We also really liked Arctic Fox when we did our research for our present rig.

As most everyone does, we are happy with and recommending what we have.

I know most would agree that an Airstream is overpriced for what you get and I understand. We have had 5 other brands before our 28 safari and I would submit the following. Take a look at a 4-5 year old unit, offer NADA pricing and keep it for 3-5 years. If you do sell, your depreciation will be almost nothing.

They are not perfect and have issues, but pride of ownership and the overall experience is just great. Not much storage room, but man they handle and tow unlike anything we have ever owned. The bg ones are like ours are very comfortable, cozy and for us work great on cross country trips.

We too looked at all the "Premium" units but what sold us on the AS was the ease of towing and the 20% better gas mileage over other units of comparable weight. That and the fact all the fixtures, hardware, etc seemed to be of a much higher quality than what was available made it a no brainer for us.

We have a winner. Without a doubt the best TT made. My second choice would be Spacecraft Mfg, another custom builder.

Airstream is tops. Period. End of that discussion.

However, you will need a bigger unit as storage is pretty cramped. Negatives are a price point at LEAST a 100% more AND then you need a larger trailer.

Positives are ease of towing, better gas mileage, and higher resale (sort of). Spending $50,000 to $75,000 for a new TT is out of most RVers catagory.
