I have a cabinet door that has pulled out all the screws so the holes are now to big for the screws to stay in.
Any suggestions as to what to use to fill in the holes so I can rethread the screws?

Thanks

Good carpenters glue and toothpicks into the holes after glue has set up sand or cut to make the surface level an reinstall the old screws.

This works. A variation of this. We didn't use toothpicks, cause we didn't have them. We just used little pieces of wood. Anyway. You wouldn't believe how much furniture is put together in this way. As good as new.

Depending on the size of the original screw holes, drill them out a little larger in diameter, e.i. 1/8", 3/16" to the depth of the original holes. Purchase a wood dowel rod or wood pegs of the same diameter that you drill the holes to. Cut them to length so that they would be flush to the surface when forced into the holes. Put a little wood glue on them and hammer them into the holes. Allow the glue to dry, mark and drill a pilot hole for the original screws and remount the door.

As Slides said, Toothpicks or wooden match sticks glued into place.

I agree with this method. I think that taking into consideration how much the rv moves, if the screws could pop out of the original framing, the tooth picks may not be enough. I would also add; use a hard wood dowel and a longer screw with a courser thread.

Done well, glued toothpicks hold. I either use toothpicks on light loads, then depending on the weight, hole enlargement, or strain. I too use all sorts, types, and sizes of dowels.

IMO....I agree with some of the patching options---personally, I'd use epoxy, but I'd find some matching machine screws....and put them all the way through the door and use washers on the back side...with "stop-nuts"....
Either you got a bum door or it's taking a lot of abuse for an '06...

Try Mr. Grip screw hole repair. These are metal mesh with sharp little blades. You stuff them in the hole, and when the screw goes in, it locks into the mesh while it pushes the blades very firmly into the wood.

They are available online and at Ace Hardware.
