Wife and I are considering upgrading to a Montana fiver. It appears that Lakeshore rv in Michigan has the best deal. It is a fair ride up there if we go with them on our purchase. The way their website reads a lot of fellow rv'ers must have purchased from them. Anyone have any comments on this dealer?

We bought from thier and was very happy with the price, only no local dealer support but I do all my own work. Thay helped me with everything very nice to deal with and have returned all of my calls after the sale as well. Me and my buddy drove up from VA and each bought a camper on a weekend. And now even with all the little things that go wrong with our campers(manufacture fault) we still are happy campers and life is well. Send me a pm and I will talk to you and tell you all about it pros and cons, if you like.

I talked to Montana Bob @ Lakeshore a couple times, he had some good prices on the Montana Fifth Wheels, but found two dealers in Indiana that beat his price quite abit. The one I chose was Walnut Ridge Family RV in New Castle, Indiana , great people to deal with, I bought the 2008 Montana 3400 RL. I ordered it , I added the following options, Mor/Ryde Pin Box,slide awnings on all four slides,Onan Marquis Gold Generator, high gloss Gel Coat Exterior, carpet color change, I think without all these options the price was some where around 36,000 and my total was 43,875 out the door, my local dealer here in Utah quoted me 58,500 with the same options ,they didn't list the prices for the options on my quote, I knew at the time what they were but forgotten now, but about fell on the floor when he quoted me the 36,000 without all the options I got,I was finding used ones here in Utah between 36000-45000 same model 1-3 years old. I chose all the options because of the low base price. There are options here you certainly do not need . The other RV dealer was near Elkhart,In. the name was Montana Direct, They were actually 300.00 dollars cheaper, but chose Walnut Ridge for a couple reasons. I picked mine up I wanted to see there dealership and see some country, also wanted to put a face to the salesman. I could not have asked for better service.I saved a few dollars picking it up , but not much. They would of cerainly shipped it to me if that is what I wanted. I would certainly give them a shot on a quote Phone # is 1-800-607-8827 the person to talk to is Shane Garringer There dealership is awesome 66 acres, on site RV park, can't say enough good about them. Would really surprise me if they are not lower than Lakeshore, they were with me.If you chose to talk to them let me know what the results are, one other thing, what model are you interested in ???? I owned a 2005 Montana 2980RL before this new one.

I did get a chance to talk with Montana Bob. I was interested in buying a Jayco Eagle from him but had concerns about his ad on Ebay.
The ad stated that it was a 2008 model but after looking closely the pictures showed it as a 2007 model in reality. The TV shown was a CRT model and the ad stated it came with a LCD TV. The table was advertised as free standing, but the pictures showed it as a booth. He was using old pictures and didn't realize the discrepancies. After pointing these differences out to him he emailed me back with apologies and corrected the pictures on Ebay. He sounded very grateful and made the corrections A.S.A.P. Just an honest mistake. I found out he prefers you to call rather than using email. Other than that I would buy from him if he can get you the price your looking for.

I bought from Lakeshore just about a year ago. Even delivered to South Carolina, they were lots $$$ cheaper than my local dealer. First number out of his mouth was his low price. Did not have to negotiate - I hate to negotiate....

Had a couple of issues (cracked tire, warped dinette top, microwave quit), but they shipped out replacements right away. Only complaints would have been from my UPS guy

Would buy from them again.

Good luck,

David

I have no doubt, I think Lakeshore is a upfront dealer, He just could not match or beat the price of my new Montana 5ver that I purchased in Indiana, anyone that compares the two will see .

Just to throw a wrench in here, take a look at Bighorn, better fit, finish, better woodwork and deeper storage. Lakeshore sells them as well.

I also bought a Montana from Lakeshore RV last June. I would do it again in a heart beat. I also got a price from Walnut Ridge RV and the price difference was $300.00. We chose Lakeshore RV after we visited their dealership in April { also did factory tour }. Montana
Bob spent about 4 hours showing us their dealership and all the different models they sold and their was never any pressure. They made you feel at home.
