Joel is parked right next to me. I'm going to put up orange cones and caution tape around my rig.

Well, guys and gals, we are out of here in the morning. AIS 4am.

We'll have wood ready for an evening campfire when the other early arrivers appear on Thursday.

I'll capture as many tarantulas as I can, and promise not to BBQ any until more folks arrive.

Doug, with your luck you'll probably get bitten...

Anyone else coming from Sac area? I asked already, but which way do you go? We go to San Luis Obispo, and go down I5 to Avenal, but I was wondering if going 80-680-101 is better roads/faster? Anyone know?

See you in a few days!

We spend a lot of time out in the Delta and the route I would use is I5 to 205 to 580 to 680 to 101. Usually smooth as long as you miss the commute in Tracy and San Jose.

akborn714 you could take the Scenic route I5 to 152 to 101. This way you get to stop at Casa de Fruta, which is really worth a visit and you get to smell Garlic all the way through the back roads of Gilroy.

Good morning.

Ok, there seems to be some question about these directions.

Quote:

Coming from the South
Take highway 101 north to Paso Robles, exit on 24th Street (G-14) and proceed approximately 7 miles. Note, this is a steep grade but very doable in an RV. Turn right on San Antonio Road and proceed approximately 7 miles to the gate entrance. It’s about a 45-minute drive from Paso Robles.

there is NO...NO..I repeat....NO exit 24 North Bound....look for the highway 41 exit..... then turn left (or West if you prefer)

I'm being asked if the exit is hwy 46, not hwy 41. According to mapquest CA-46 W becomes CR-G14

So now I am really confused. Is there someone coming from the south that can clarify this?

Y'all have a good day!

Judy you are right 46 becomes G-14 to the west and runs into and splits with 41 to the east, just past James Dean memorial.

Hi Folks...I need to put out a good thoughts/prayers request.

Sherry's little brother went into the hospital yesterday to have some fluid removed from around his heart. They removed much more than they thought they would (1 litre) and then tried again a couple hours later removing another (700ml - think bottle of wine size). At that point they put in a catheter and today he goes in for a full blown open heart surgery so they can try and figure out why this is happening and hopefully get it to stop.

The toughest part in all this is they don't know why yet and the possibilities range from the very simple/treatable (ie a viral infection treatable with antibiotics) through the worst case possible scenario (the big C).

He is only 33 and has a wife and 2 young children at home (6 yr old girl and 4 yr old boy). Sherry spent the day at the hospital yesterday to help look after the little guy and offer support and I dropped her off this morning on my way to work.

Any, not trying to bring everyone down, but wanted to let you know and get some of those good vibes and prayers going!
