Anyone else coming from Sac area? I asked already, but which way do you go? We go to San Luis Obispo, and go down I5 to Avenal, but I was wondering if going 80-680-101 is better roads/faster? Anyone know?

See you in a few days!

We spend a lot of time out in the Delta and the route I would use is I5 to 205 to 580 to 680 to 101. Usually smooth as long as you miss the commute in Tracy and San Jose.

Ok, I really swear I am not this dense normally, people! I just really dont like driving into the unknown with a travel trailer. So, I want to find the easiest/fastest way. So, nerdofparadise, your way on yahoo maps says 3.5 hours, and a few others posts say go down 5 to Santa Nella then over, but thats 3.5 hours from 5, so it seems since Tracy is over an hour before Santa Nella, that would cut an hour off. If I go 5 to 205, that should be about 5 hours... Sounds like the way to go? I want to try and get out of town by 12:30ish, so I should miss most of the traffic in San Jose and Tracy.

I guess we can just wing it, and depending on which lane i am in is the way i will go. We have a GPS too, once we get close.

Thanks everyone for all your help! Oh, and Doug, if anyone tries to park in #3 tomorrow, tell them its really unlevel, or haunted or something.

Misty, you mean site lucky 13, not #3 I'm not sure which direction you are going to come into SAL. But I will tell you to trust my directions when you get to King City (north of SAL) or Paso Robles (south of SAL). Mapquest sent my brother way out of the way the first time he went to SAL.

Map of SAL AREA

We are on the south chore.

From the South take Highway 101 to Paso Robles or I-5 to Highway 46 to Paso Robles...then enjoy the scenic 28 mile drive to the Resort...via 24th Street (Nacimiento Dr. G-14) to Interlake Road (G-14).
From the North exit 101 at Jolon road King City G-14 for the North Shore, or Jolon Road G-19 just North of Bradley for the South Shore.

Motorhome is parked at home and ready to take off. Tomorrow is Yom Kippur (starting in a few minutes) and we will go to the synagoge and try to attone the whole group. So...we can have lots of fun during the weekend.
See you all Friday.

We come in on the 101 from the South. We stay on the 101 until we are in Paso Robles. Punch the address into your GPS. Our GPS took us right to the camp ground. We got confused on G14 but the GPS was right on the money, we just trusted that to get us in. It did.

Hi Folks...I need to put out a good thoughts/prayers request.

Sherry's little brother went into the hospital yesterday to have some fluid removed from around his heart. They removed much more than they thought they would (1 litre) and then tried again a couple hours later removing another (700ml - think bottle of wine size). At that point they put in a catheter and today he goes in for a full blown open heart surgery so they can try and figure out why this is happening and hopefully get it to stop.

The toughest part in all this is they don't know why yet and the possibilities range from the very simple/treatable (ie a viral infection treatable with antibiotics) through the worst case possible scenario (the big C).

He is only 33 and has a wife and 2 young children at home (6 yr old girl and 4 yr old boy). Sherry spent the day at the hospital yesterday to help look after the little guy and offer support and I dropped her off this morning on my way to work.

Any, not trying to bring everyone down, but wanted to let you know and get some of those good vibes and prayers going!

Adam and Sherry- I pray right now specifically for wisdom for the physicians, for complete healing and restoration of health and heart function. I pray that the family feels an uncanny sense of peace that can only come from strength in the Lord. I will keep them in my prayers. Thanks for sharing-and asking for prayer.

Wow...65 posts since yesterday? One more workday (Lee, just check Wikipedia if you've already forgotton what that means)... (and, it would be a work-Friday for you if you still had a job! LOL)

Doug - I don't think I want any BBQ'd T's this year. They do taste like chicken, but they need a shave! Hairy chicken - and Juanita assured us she removed all sharp objects (except you) from the 5th wheel for this trip. I think Veggieman gave you good advice. Just sit back and watch us all arrive. Remember to shoot photos to share with Lee & company.

Judy's directions have always been really good - just one little typo on that Hwy 41 note -- It definitely should read Hwy 46. Otherwise those directions work fine. We drive north on 101 out of the East L.A. interchange to Paso Robles and exit Hwy 46 "G" street; turn left and head up the way past Big Bubbas BBQ (if you need gas it is cheaper if you go right and watch for the two gas stations on the left about a mile or 1.5 miles that way)... It has never seemed that steep of a road to us, we just enjoy the scenery and when you get close to the campground you aim for the tarantulas (well, not really); it is their mating season and they seem to like the asphalt. I think it takes us about 30-45 minutes when we leave 101 to get to the campground entrance but who is counting at that point?? We'll be arriving Friday morning and staying over on Sunday. See you all soon, except Soon. (Bill is really bummed!)
