We went over 100 degrees today, Ouch! But it's a "dry heat". Somehow that doesn't make it better!

Actually dry heat is much better and it really does make a difference. I lived in Houston for a bit many years ago. 99 degrees and 99% humidity. Even at 82-85 degrees, with that amount of humidity even at the lower temps it was much worse than 100 degrees of dry heat. Even Boston, New York and Cleveland were much worse at substantially lower temperatures, because of the humidity. I'm sure Lee will soon recognize the simple truth about heat and humidity.

We are already prepared for the "WET" heat and I am sure it is going to be miserable for us. But for now "NEENER NEENER" hahaha.. I was about 72 today and we did the 100 mile Yard Sale..... It was a lot of fun and interesting to boot some of the stuff people were selling was a crack up. 1 guy was selling Ducks and then others were selling the typical stuff. Also we noticed that they were selling guns and knifes. One guy had a sign up that said "We Have Guns" well needless to say we didn't stop...... I am going to try and do another slide show of the trip and the scenery. Tomorrow is our Strawberry Festival in Downtown Portland is should be in the mid 70's. I am going to try and do some of those pictures also........

To explain where the 100 mile yard sale is... We live off highway 109 and 109 goes right thru the middle of town about 5 miles from our street and it crosses highway 52. Highway 52 runs east and west if you turn to the west 52 goes about 20 miles if you turn left on 52 it goes about 80 miles. We went to the left if you will notice people just set up there yard sales any where along the road. I took some pictures as I was driving so you could see the scenery that we live in. We only had the HHR so we could not buy a lot of stuff. Next year we want to take the MH down there and park it put out the awing and sell stuff... LoL We bought the bell, two small wooden wheels, and the little chair that we now have in our back yard..... I hope I was able to explain this. All I can say is we have never seen anything like this and it was truly amazing...
I sure hope the link works

The link works great! Beautiful country side and I KNOW I could have found several "treasures" there today! I laughed at the picture of the stop sign soooo high on that pole. I am sure there's a good reason, but still it made me giggle! Thank you Mr. Photographer!

Well, I have to say it was 106 degrees yesterday and 100 today. The poor kids were sooooo hot the last two days. Today, the principal was nice enough to set up with his laptop a movie for the kids in the Multi-use Room during lunch while they ate lunch. They watched "The Toy Story". They were absolutely thrilled.
I finally broke down and went swimming at our pool down the street. After 17 years of living here, I have never seen such little usage of the pool when it's first opened. I have really enjoyed having the pool to myself, especially in this hot weather.
Hope everyone has a great weekend. Stay cool!!
