CactusCampers, there is a Starcraft highwall up the street from my that says it has only been used like three times and wants something like $8K for it. It looks like it has a slide and has A/C etc but not sure of model or whether it has a potty/shower. It has been for sale for a long time so it may be overpriced or the owner just doesn't advertise it. Email me if you want the phone number.

Also planning a Yellowstone trip in June . . . CactusCampers when in June are you planning on going? I am planning on going during the first couple of weeks of June, maybe leaving the weekend after Memorial Day weekend. Have done trips to the last couple of years the beginning of June and crowds tend to be a bit less because school is not out for much of the country yet. I am interested in your planned route, stops, etc.
There are lots of people who camp in Yellowstone with popups. Probably not too much different that camping in Yosemite, which we did last summer. In Yosemite/Sequoia they have bear proof food boxes (see my pics below for pics of them) that are mandatory for tent or popup trailer campers as well as very strict bear rules while in the park. There was an article in a magazine that said that the Yosemite Bears are the smartist bears in the world at figuring out how to find food. In the campground we stayed at in Sequoia the campground host told us that a bear the year before had figured out how to open the barrel bolts on the food boxes! So, when we were there we had to put a extra clip or tent stake through a hole drilled in the barrel bolt to prevent it from opening!

Have you considered TrailManor or HiLo?
Yellowstone NP has such restrictions at only one campground - Fishing Bridge. Only hard walled RV's allowed there. The rest of the many campgrounds are great for popups! We went last Summer and spent 5 nights at Madison campground in our popup. Nice place. You have to call in to make reservations. Very friendly folks there at Xanterra. The reservation agent I spoke to was from my own neighborhood here in Oklahoma!

I've been visiting Yellowstone since I was a kid. In those 30 years I can't recall one bear attack that happened where a bear attacked a tent/popup camper in one of the established campgrounds.
We'll have our popup back out there soon.

We started looking (ok.. dreaming) a year before we bought our pup. We were looking between pups, htts, and tts at first. We had found a htt we liked originally.
The next year we went out again. We decided on a pup and went to a dealer that we liked and looked through their used row. We found the pup in my sig that we fell in love with after walking through it. They had a newer one, but it was already sold.
We bought it without knowing a whole lot about the problems with the different brands. We are lucky that ours has the aluminum skinned roof. There were small things wrong with it, but I am handy and can fix almost everything. I bought it "as is" from the dealer (they hadn't preped it yet). It saved me $750. We could clean and fix a lot for that much.
I would definately buy used again, but would be a little more careful this time.
Good luck on your search!

CactusCampers--
Not sure if you're looking for additional suggestions for campers to look at, but if so, you might consider looking at the Starcraft Centennial lineup. Its a high-walled model which is nice because of the larger refrigerator and more storage. They offer some with slideouts, front storage, king-sized bunks, and full shower/toilets combos.
Last fall I bought ours, a 2004 Centennial 3606 for just a touch over $6K.
Just a thought.

CactusCamper,
We looked for months for a bigger used PUP that was less than 3 years old. We never found one. There were a lot of the small and med size ones available. We ended-up buying a new unit. Good luck!

We actually bought our PUP new from a dealer in Tucson on Ebay. Yes, it was a bit of a drive, but we made a vacation out of it. We got it for almost $2000 less than anyplace else was selling the same model for, so it was worth the drive.
You might consider calling some dealerships in Utah or Colorado. Also, look at the Craigslist in those states. It's still winter up here, and most people aren't thinking about camping right now. If you're willing to take a long weekend to drive somewhere to look at a few from both Craigslist and the dealers you contact, you might get some good deals right now.
