Tinsu, that first pic reminds me of my first tent trip in recent years, when I finally got back into it. I stayed a night in a KOA on the south side of Orlando, Florida near Mouseland. Their idea of a 'primitive camp spot' was a sliver of grass along the back fence, right across from the RV dump area. Had the lights of a sports field shining all night too, and the RV traffic going by all night.
Lucky I got any sleep at all!
Haven't been to a KOA since!

BigDog,
Funny you mention your "first tent trip in recent years." That actually was mine. With the youngest in college last year, I decided to get back into camping. That was my first trip on my own (I did take the Idaho trip, which was with a rafting group) in many, many years. I really had a great time, but was worried about all those rigs when it got close to bed time. Thank goodness, this campground respects "quiet time." At 9:59, there was a lot of noise. I thought I would be in trouble. At 10 PM, everyone shut down and went to bed. It was nice.
What types of places do you camp in now? I stay mostly in state parks like that one in Indiana.

I have some pics of our trip on the Middle Fork Salmon River and of our tent camping days on my webshots page.
I'll be adding more of my canoe camping trips later today.

Gotta go along with you RV4 - Its great to have a wife that enjoys the same things you do.
SW-4 on the South Rim of Big Bend National Park

And the view from just a few yards away made a 13+ mile roundtrip hike over icy trails seem like nothing

Wright,
Do you see that ramp in the background? Is that the put-in ramp on the first day? When we went down the ramp, the river was so high, that we launched right off the ramp. The water was up very high, no one could stand where your rafts were located.
I thought it was interesting that our campfires had to be inside that small metal square. Our guides were so nervous about forest fires (it was July), that we would light only a teeny weeny fire. I was hoping for a roaring fire until I learned about the forest fire dangers.
That was a great trip.

Those were taken the first week of January of 07. Most folks don't associate snow with the Rio Grande but its not all that unusual in the upper elevations of Big Bend. Just unpredictable - same week in 06 and we were in short and tees. Great Park in any weather though - we'll be back in two weeks.

Tinsu,
So far, I've stayed at Motorcycle campgrounds for a few meets, at state campgrounds during roadtrips, and a couple spots locally I've found in the National Forest. One spot I like is only ten miles from home, so I can toss the gear on the bike and motor out there quickly, when I need a night away from the 'hood. :-)
I really like Alabama's state campgrounds - clean and well set up!
We did have one night when a young man decided to serenade the whole place with a guitar at 2AM - but the ranger on duty 'encouraged' him to move on. That boy could NOT sing . . .

San Felipe, Mexico. We spent a week on the beach rolling in the waves in the afternoon, and rolling on the quads morning and evenings.
