Does anyone have any experience with the 08 Diplomat? We're very strongly considering purchasing one with the Tommy Bahama package. Would like to hear your comments.

Forgot to mention that we're looking at a Diplomat 40 PDQ.

Its a good unit. We started to by one but found out we could swing the Camelot.
The 40pdq with the 400 ils is a good setup.

I made a post recently regarding our 2007 Monaco Diplomat 40PDQ (pretty similar to the rig you are considering). You can read it here.

While I cite some negatives regarding repairs/fixes to the rig, we are happy with our unit and probably would buy one again.

We have an 07, 40 foot Dip PDQ with the Ralph Lauren package. We really didn't care about the RL but we loved the floor plan so we bought it.. We have 18,000 miles on it and still love it. We were just at the Pre rally in Lancaster and looked at all the new models and still love ours.. We thought it was the best value for the money. We've had 10 small items to fix since we've owned it and I mean small. Couldn't be happier with the motor home and Monaco..
I think you will love the unit you're looking at..

We've encountered some issues, but no major ones. Don't know if it is just our coach or if all Diplomats have this design flaw, but when the slides are extended the main storage compartment doors will not open all the way. The dealer repaired one door by lowering it slightly, but now it won't lock securely and opens while in motion.

We, too, have a leak in the water line under the sink that goes to the icemaker. We discovered it quite by accident, during a coach-wide search for a missing item. It's on our repair list.

Our W/D was installed incorrectly, sitting on top of one of the drain lines and with a kink in the other line.

There is a problem with the ignighter for the stove burners.

There was a loose connector to the coach battery.

That's pretty much it, that we know of so far.

Our coach is pretty noisy when in motion - lots of wind noise in cockpit area, and lots of squeeks here and there (not payload). DH just deals with them; I wear earplugs. And think of how much I really, really like the floorplan and how happy I'll be when we get where we're going and get set up.

We've only called Monaco's 24-hour tech support line once - about 8 p.m. on a Friday night - when all the dash lights began flashing while we were watching TV. Felt kind of silly when we figured out that DH had the keys in his pocket and had accidentally sat on the panic button. We panicked allright.

The rig: 41' 2008 Monaco Diplomat SKQ
The toad: 2008 Honda CRV EX-L
The Pilot: Warren
The Navagator: Betty (recalculating!)
The Passengers: Bear and Sassy (our cat kids)
Home is where we park it

We purchased a PRQ 2007 Diplomat, in April 07. We love our coach. Since 1988 this is # 6 motorhome, all bought new. We have had a few things needing repair or changed, but have had a great response from Monaco and Elkhart Ind. Service has been great. The response about wind noise in the motorhome and difficulty in maintaining on the road with strong winds has not been experienced by us. Our coach has been weighed and tire pressures are according to these figures. No door leaks that was experienced. We do have tank level problems which have not been resolved. I hope this is of some help to those interested in the 08 Diplomat.

We have the 40SKQ 2008 Diplomat - Tommy Bahama - Love it - no problems to speak of - the only thing on my "fix list" is one cracked tile by the bathroom - we will be in Wildwood Florida the 9th of April to have it fixed. We had a washer and dryer installed by DeMartini when we bought it an it's great. Can't find anything wrong yet - picked it up in July and are full timing - in Florida now and will head to Maine in May for the summer. We tow a 2004 Nissan Titan 4 x 4 and don't even know it's back there. You will love it.
