Has anyone visited this park recently. I met with an employee of the park at the Maryland RV show and was told that they have worked to clean up the park. There are now over 300 pull through sites, and they trimmed back the trees so they will not contact the RV. From the pictures they had available the park looked very nice, but some of the reviews were less then promising.

I can't comment on the park today. We stayed there many years ago and it was kind of a dump.It would be nice to think some new owners were cleaning it up because we are losing alot of campgrounds to developement.

While at the Timonium show on Feb 17 we received the same information. My wife's family live in Millsboro and Dagsboro, DE and we are planning a trip down to the area on March 15 to a 60th birthday party. None of my wife's family are familiar with this campground. We plan to visit this campground while we are down there. I will report our findings.

It's a dump. I stopped there once and paid for two nights. It is gated you can't enter until you pay. Once you get about 100 feet beyond the gate it looks like a third world country. I left immediately but they refuesed to refund my money. Said they had a 24 hour cancellation policy. To this day I make it my mission to make sure they don't sucker anyone else. Don't just take my word for it, check the reviews yourself:

Holly Lakes has always had the reputation of being a dump. Maybe it has been sold and they are trying to fix it up. A decent CG in that area would be a gold mine.

*******Update on Holly Lake, Delaware****
As promised, I am going to report my findings after touring Holly Lake Campground. My DW and I stopped by and asked to tour the campground and the person at the office who greeted us through an open storm window gave us a gate pass for the newer section which is located on Phillips Branch Road. This is suppose to be the newer section of the campground and is about 2 or so miles from the camp office. We proceeded into the campground which is a very rough road and then we used gate pass to get into the campground. Once inside, we found many seasonal campers, some living there and many vacant(I guess until warmer weather). This appeared to be a run down trailer park with some lots for weekenders, a road that is mainly sand and I personally would not want to stay at this park once night falls. My suggestion is to stay away!!! It is a shame that someone has let this campground fall into such disrepair since this could be a gold mine if someone had the money to fix it up since it is close to the beaches in Delaware and Maryland.

buskirk, thanks for the update on Holly Lakes we looked thru it a few years ago and it sounds like it has not made any changes, we did go thru the other section and the roads would be very tight for a big rig to get thru.

We stayed at Holly Lake close to 10 years ago, we were tenters at that time. It was rough. One of the things that sticks out (no punn intented) in my memory is that the toilet stalls only had shower curtains instead of doors, and to make matters worse (just in my opinion) is that the freakin plastic curtains were close to the toilets AND each curtain had a hole in it right at face level when seated on the toilet!
I made sure all my business was done and wouldn't need to use the bathroom in the late night hours. Wouldn't want to have my eyes shut and yawning.....
It had potential to be a nice CG, but it wansn't measuring up to it.Sorry
