Now I need a better place for the hitch head. Though normally it would have the ball cover over all that grease.

I put plastic trash can liners over the greasy ends and set them in the bed of my truck when we are camping. The plastic bags keep the grease away from the dog and the rest of whatever we need to put back there when we go out on excursions. At home, I'm very fortunate that I have a friend who has 10 acres and an 8000 sq. ft. shop on his property that I'm able to store my trailer on and all the camping gear in one corner of the shop. If the ceiling and roll up door in the shop was higher, I would store the trailer inside. But it beats paying $80 - $100 per month at a public storage place.

I purchased a holder from the Internet which are two short tubes that mount vertically on the front of the trailer frame. The bars face down into the tubes and are kept clean and held in place (above the ground) this also leave room in the storage compartment and does make the mess. I will try and post a picture of the setup. It works very well.

The rifle case sounds great to me. I have been covering the greasy ends with gallon size zip-lock bags and placing them in the pass through. Somewhere I saw a pic of a rifle case someone used and he also stored his friction sway control in it.

MDM8770 - I'd be interested to know more details about what you purchased and to see pics. I've been looking for something similar.

I keep mine on the tongue right behind the propane tank. They cross so I can determine which one is left/right. I slip a baggie over the greasy end and dispose of it when I reinstall them. Also keeps the dirt off!

Not liking the idea of leaving them outside or unattended, I slip an old heavy sock over the nasty end and lay them in the front storage compartment. This keeps things clean.

Hi

I welded some rectangular tubing to the inside of my trailer tongue in the vertical position, I also welded a piece of band stock across the bottom, I insert the bar ends into the tubing and the stand up behind my propane tanks when not in use. For the bal mount I welded a small 2' X 2" box tube to the underside of the trailer tongue, I just slip the hitch goesinta into the box tubing and pin lock it. Everything stays nice and neat right where I need them when not in use.

I would be happy to post a picture but the trailer is buried with four snow plows in front of it so I can't get a clear shot for a photo.
