I may be in the wrong area for this question, but couldn't find anything that seemed to fit. I have been looking at extension ladders to carry in my fifth wheel to get up to clean my solar panels. I don't feel comfortable walking on the roof. On e-bay I have seen some collapsible 12.5' ladders that run about $110. Has anyone had one of these, and do they work well? They fold to 30"X19" which would be nice for storing.

If you're talking about a telescoping ladder, I use one at work and it works real well. It flexes a bit, but I'm about 220 lbs. I think we gave a little over $200 for them a couple of years ago.

I got one from CW around the same size. It works well once you get the hang of operating it. Be careful it slides very easily on the gel-coat. Other than that it's great.
Can I ask if your not comfortable on the roof because of the height? If is not that and you thought that it was not recommended to walk on the roof, that's completely different. When I picked up my 5er the dealer never said anything as to whether or not it would support walking on it. I had to find out for myself and by asking others. It's very capable of supporting my weight, and I go 250+lbs. But if were back to your not liking the height I might just take it a little at a time. I am completely comfortable on mine now. Enjoy

No, it isn't the height, the last time I was up there I stepped on a spot that felt a little soft, and after finding out that the roof is nothing more than 1/8" of plywood over a few inches of Styrofoam, I didn't want to make a new entrance to the trailer. It sounds like I could use one of these ladders for cleaning the panels, or cleaning off the roof if away from home. I found out how slick the gelcoat is one time I was cleaning the front of the trailer. I went off the top of my step ladder, and I am too old to drop five foot onto a hard surface, or any surface for that matter. Thanks.
Wagner makes a "Little Giant" knock off that looks pretty good. I have a Little Giant that goes to 21 ft. Over kill yes, but since I have nothing in it, why by another ladder.
