I am looking at buying a new Jayco Seneca 36FS and have read that Jayco has upgraded it's suspension. I found out that the unit I am looking at was built in 10/2007 but is a 2008 chassis and coach. It has the 15,000lb springs in the rear. My question is will Jayco pay to put the heavier springs in it befor I buy it, does it improve the ride, and do I go through Jayco or the dealer for this upgrade? Thankyou for any information

If I were you I would not buy the one on the lot but instead factory order one that would have the options you want etc. The factory order would probably have the 19000 lbs springs and the 1800 watt inverter as well as a few other minor tweeks. You'll probably find that it won't cost you more.

I agree have Jayco do all the small issues at the factory for you and should be no additioal cost. My 08 just spent 3 weeks in the shop for the springs replacement. Dane

After talking to my dealer they told me they talked to Jayco and they will not upgrade the suspension on a new Seneca and if I order one it will be $5,000 to $10,000 more. What should I do? Buy this and upgrade it myself or move on to another dealer? Would it make a difference if I called Jayco myself? Please help me. thankyou!

I am surprised by their response, but I can tell you that the upgrade costs around $1800. If Jayco won't fund the spring replacement, just look for 2008 units that have the 19k springs in it already as it is my understanding that they are building them that way now.

How can you be sure your dealer spoke with Jayco. I think if you called Jayco, told them you are aware of the problem and you have folks in your support group that have all had their springs changed at no cost and you will purchase Jayco if they make this happen.

I bet they come forth. Sometimes dealer don't always take to time to get to the proper folks.

I would buy one from rvdirect but the only problem is that I have a trade it. With them you gain on one end but lose on the other. I've got my dealer within $10,000 of rvdirects price for the unit but my dealer is giving me $18,000 more for my trade.

Talked to people from Jayco today and they didn't seem to be very helpful. They told me unless the springs are broken or faulty they will not upgrade the springs. I think it's pretty dumb they can't spend a little money to sell a $150,000 motorhome. They say on their web site their mission is to make customers happy but to me it doesn't seem like they're doing a good job.
Why would they fix some customers springs but not mine?

I was just told the other day by the service manager at my dealer that Jayco told them that they would no longer do any chassis and suspension upgrades. Any problems need to be directed to GM. I was not really sure what he meant as it did not affect me but now it is clearer.
