Ok you can get a new 35GS HD for 98 if you search the internet and that is loaded out with the 19K springs installed. GM will not touch the suspension as they Jayco modified it without GM approval. I have not had an issue with Jayco after I wrote the CEO and owner a letter. I did do some upgrades on the suspension myself but the springs were covered. Dane

I think it's pretty dumb they can't spend a little money to sell a $150,000 motorhome. They say on their web site their mission is to make customers happy but to me it doesn't seem like they're doing a good job.
Why would they fix some customers springs but not mine?
Since you are negotiating with a dealer for the sale, make them include an upgrade as a condition of sale, or have them take off an additional $1800 so you can get it done. I must have got in just under the wire as I had my springs augmented last month and recently received a check from Jayco for the cost (thanks Jayco!)

I was just told the other day by the service manager at my dealer that Jayco told them that they would no longer do any chassis and suspension upgrades. Any problems need to be directed to GM. I was not really sure what he meant as it did not affect me but now it is clearer.
That's scary stuff. Our dealer got us to take delivery by assuring us that Jayco would make the suspension/handling problems right. We'll take him at his word, though. But I sure wouldn't buy one that didn't handle right without that assurance.
Dirtcloud, just don't buy it if you don't like the way it handles.

How did you like the ride with the 15k springs? If you hated the ride you should either special order one or wait until more 2008's are out with the 19k springs. If you really want this motorhome try and negotiate the cost of the upgraded springs into the deal. I added Supersprings leaf to my motorhome and couldn't be more happy.
I purchased my motorhome with no trade in for 115k out the door, that's including California state tax.

Hello i'm curious if this same issue exists on the 35ft Seneca toy hauler? I'm looking at one and am not sure what the suspension problem is or what it can cause on the highway? Thanks,Kevin.

This is the first I am hearing about the springs. Can someone point me to a post. I did a couple searches and came up with nothing.

JohnInAz,
Where did you have your springs replaced? Where you satisfied with the work and how long did it take to do the spring change?

CarDoc,
It was at a suspension shop called SpecTrac Suspension in Gilbert. The rig was in their shop about 5 days, but several of those days was waiting for shocks to arrive. They added a leaf to each side, did whatever arching was needed to level it, did a front and rear alignment, and installed the koni's. I had to take it back after I put 200 miles on it to retourque the bolts. The changes definately improved the road handling charateristics (doesn't wallow over uneven surfaces, feels more in control on turns) yet it didn't make the ride harsher.

The Seneca Jayco dealer in Arizona is World Wide RV in Mesa and they send all their Seneca suspension work to Cliffs Welding on Main east of Val Vista.
It's called Cliffs Welding but all they do is suspension and towing products for RV's. The "Welding" in their name dates back to the 1950's when they were a welding shop. Ask for Jim if you phone as he's arranged the spring upgrade on many Seneca's.
