I asked you a simple question. I didn't refer to you sarcastically as you did to CAMPinMI, I didn't get upset or mad like you did to my question. I think if there is a pill to be taken, it is you my friend who needs it.

We have a hybrid without a slide and are ok with it as we spend all of our time outside.
This one particular day when the wind was blowing to hard to eat ouside,we "a family of 4 and a border collie" found that our non-slide unit to be quite close.
If TC is not an issue i would recommend a slide to anyone buying a hybrid but still very pleased with ours.
We just bought a used hybrid with no slide...for us price was an issue, however we really did not want a slide as we generally like to get in cramped out-of-the-way campsites off the beaten path. We also do a lot of traveling where we stay no longer than 2-3 nights in one site, and in that time we spend very little in our camper. The floor plan has 4 bunks in the back though, so it's a little more spacious without a slide than most of the other hybrids we have looked at. I think the style of camping, length of stay, family size, and normal activities vary so much between families that it would be impossible to come to an agreement on whether or not a slide is better.
Hmmmm. Seems like the consensus here is that a slide preference is based mostly on whether you have one or not :-)
I have a Roo 21 - no slide. It is pretty cramped in there with the 6 of us and the furry buddy, but it is more roomy than the popup that we upgraded from. It would be nice to have a slide (or 10' more length and one or more slides), but from a financial and engineering (TV limits) standpoint, this trailer fits our needs.
Find one with a floorplan you can live with, at a price you can live with, and at a weight you can tow safely, and you will probably be happy, regardless of whether or not the unit has a slide.

I am not ,nor was i mad.I just get a little tired of all the smart a$$ comments when somebody states their opinion. Many good people have left this forum for this very reason,MY FRIEND.
Ours is a 3 bunker. No slide. We're a 3 person family and everybody gets their own bunk. We have had a good family friend and her young son stay with us. Plenty of room for all. Love this HTT. If we ever upgrade, we'll probably get a TT and it will have a slide.

When I first started backpacking, I had no tent-just a tarp that went under me when dry and over me staked out, sticked and guyed when it rained. When I got married, I bought a 2 person tube tent that weighed 2.5 lbs. Now, 2 kids later, I have a 4 person backpacking tent that we'd sleep in, and a well guyed tarp that we'd sit in and cook under when it was rainy. It was real pretty watching the rain fall from under it. We would still hike, in any weather, using real good foul weather gear (goretex). We have decided on a no slide out model, to keep it light and cheap, and anything above a backpacking tent and a tarp was a major step up for us. But after reading all these posts, I may just reconsider and get that slide out model after all.

We owned 2 PUP's before we bought our HTT one year ago (gosh that's hard to believe )that didn't have a lot of room. Anyway, my DW and I had an idea of what we were looking for of course before we bought. We knew that a trailer with a u-dinette was out of the question, but that was really about all. We wanted to make sure we had lots of room in ours. A slide out was not necessarily in the plans but now after owning one, I don't think I could get any kind of rv, be it a 5'er, TT or another HTT without the slide. Absolutely love the added space, and it does come in handy on those real lousy weather days.
