Doesn't matter. I like David C best but the winner has to follow a lot of AI rules whereas the rest of the group can sign any contracts they want as soon as the "tour" is over. So I figure the runner-up has the best deal.
Well, that was quite a show. Michael Buffer.. nice touch.
They were both good, no doubt, but I'd have to say my money's on Archuleta. Not only do I think he's the better singer, but he's just such an all-American boy, innocent and lovable, I think he's the clear favorite. And judging by the opening applause, I'd say the audience thinks so too.
However, I didn't care for Archuleta's rendition of "Imagine." I thought this time he toyed with the melody too much and the song lost its soul. His other 2 songs were much better. And I had to agree with Simon that the slow song David C picked was not a good choice. I did like his other 2 songs. "Still haven't found.." is one of my favorite tunes.
By the way, I LOVE that Diet Coke commercial song where those kids are on roller skates.. what song is that?
Oh, and that Lloyd Webber guy is weird. His complaining about David's closed eyes is more annoying than David's closed eyes.

Exactly. Cook was better in round 2 and 3, A. won round one, big time.
Cook is WAY better singer, and will make a lot of money. You will hear his
name for a long time to come. Archie would have faded into the sunset if he
didn't win, and now that he likely will, thanks to the judges, they have just
fattened their pocketbooks. You can disagree, but I'm sure I am right about
the judges thing. THEY WANT ARCHIE TO WIN.

David A will win (although last night we actually VOTED for the first time for Cook - had minimal problems getting thru on landline, called about a dozen times.)
It is unfortuante tho. I have David A pegged. Figured it out last night. He's the male 17-year old Celine Dion. All his songs sound the same, have the same slow tempo, phrasing, etc... SNOOOOOOOOORE. I doubt he will be able to make a career doing that tho as the tweens who will propel him to the AI win today will soon grow up and another cherub will no doubt come along. While I didn't think Cook did as good a job last night as he had, he is an incredibly talented musician. Should he have done Billie Jean again? Debatable. And I DID like his fan-song choice, could imagine hearing it on the radio. I agree with Joe. I can't begin to count the number of times I've heard Simon tell a contestant that they are one dimensional (think Amanda Overmeyer) yet he praises David A even tho every song he sings is the same (just different words). He was seeing the dollar signs for sure. David A may be a better "singer" but Cook is a better "musician".
I, also, think David A was the better "man" last night, even though I like David C. If you listen to AOL Radio online on Pop Idols, they play almost exclusively AI music, you will hear both stage performances and studio cuts. David C does Billy Jean, Elenour Rigby, and Hello very good, but David A can definitely do some of the song types he sings great.
I agree that DA mostly sings "heart tearing" music, but none of them are original and are just redos of others, while DC does the same only with more flare and originality.
I think DA will win, but DC will be the main one to get the music out, just like Katharin Mac and Taylor Hicks have to know that Daughtry made the charts and the music industry before them. The same can be said for Clay Aiken hitting the charts over Ruben.
