Any recommended campgrounds for the first week in March on either side of the Smokey Mountains in NC or TN.

Thanks, LIKENIT

We stayed at Twin Creek in Gatilenburg TN last year and had a great time. The park is tight but very well maintained and very close to the park (there is even a back way to get around the traffic to the park - very convenient).

We really like Little River Village in Townsend. It is a KOA now, so is easy to find on their website (and comes with KOA prices), but Townsend is a very pretty, quiet town very close to Cades Cove.

For that time of year In Cherokee I would recommend Happy Holiday.

Not as many people on the NC side as TN. this time of year.

In the summer months we camp at Yogi in the Smoky's.
I have pics on my web page.

I have to vote for Little River Village in Townsend.

You will need to do some checking as a number of the campgrounds shut down for the winter and do not reopen until around the first of April. Little River Village is open year round.

We are planning the same trip as you in March. We are staying at the Koa in Cherokee for 5 days then plan on moving to Twin Creak in Gatlinburg for 2 days. We had to sneak in Tn. since we don't have it on our sticker map yet

Thanks for the suggestions. A lot of places were not open yet and we found the best rates by far at Twin Mountains RV Park in Pigeon Forge. http://www.twinmountainrvpark.com/
We were backed up to the Pigeon River with free WiFi and Cable TV for $23.00/night
