I downloaded a book from audible.com.
I burned it to disks with Nero, but they wouldn't play. Audible explained that only iTunes is licenced to burn disks from their books.
So I tried again, using iTunes. About twelve disks into the book, the disks just quit burning. I tried again, same result. I could try again, but so far it's been a big waste of disks and time.
So I thought I would try it from my wife's computer. I tried emailing the book to her, but got an out-of-memory error.
I could, I suppose, try to negotiate downloading the book from Audible again, without having to pay for it a second time.
But our computers do WIFI. Can we somehow put them in touch with each other so that I can send her my audible files over WIFI? And, if so, is that something I can be taught to do on this bulletin board?
In the alternative: There's something fishy about how Audible says that only iTunes is licenced to burn disks of Audible files. That suggests to me that other programs are capable, just not approved of. Does anyone know of such a program?
Did I forget to ask the right question? I will happily entertain answers to questions I didn't think to ask.

Sorry I can't help you but I would like to RANT!!
This is what's happening with all this copy protection junk.
An honest costumer here is handcuffed with rules and regulations that restrict is use of a product he payed for.
Yet all of this hardly slows down a true software pirate who can crack, copy and redistribute anything with ease.

You could try installing itunes if it is the license source and then try burning it using Nero. I am a big fan of Roxio but with thumb/jump drives being so cheap I stop burning to disk all together. All that format restriction junk.

You can set up File Sharing by right-clicking on the folder containing the downloaded material and then left-mouse on Sharing. Make sure both computers are in the same Workgroup by clicking Start and then right-mouse on My Computer and left-mouse on Properties in the menu that pops up. Select the Computer Name tab and change the workgroup names so they are the same.
Once in the same workgroup the shared folder will show up in your wife's Network Neighborhood and she can access the contents.

You don't say what OS you have...
If you have Leopard, just drag the files into the Public Folder. Any other Mac on your network can look into your public folder through the Finder -- nothing to set up. Now, if you have Windows, file sharing takes a bit of work like Magicbus points out.

and audio book that takes 12 discs ?
how big is the file you DLed and in what format ?
nero is attempting to convert to wav format
and Itunes likely burns it as an MP3 format
and yes DRM is *****
but it sounds like the file is currupt if itunes discs also give you problems
search the audio forums, likely you can mount the file as a virtual drive and listen to it on your PC, if you want this for your CAR ?
maybe you can 'record it' from the virtual drive to cd's

I'm Windows XP. My wife is Windows Vista.
The book is A Game of Thrones. It comes in four downloads. I've never managed to burn the second one, so the whole book may be something more than 24 disks.

Actually I forgot about the Window shared folder - I never used it but you should be able to drag and drop just as with Leopard.

I hate to say it but if you know where to look, you most likely could get the same book pirated on the internet with no DRM crap.
I am baffled by how it is so hard to give the entertainment industry my money. I have to really work at giving my hard earned money to them.
Wheras, if I pirated the content, all I would have to do is download and burn.
It's no wonder they are losing money right and left.

Here it is: A Game of Thrones. 1.8 gig download...a big file. If you don't know how to do torrents, don't try. It's not easy and can be dangerous (esp. on a Windows computer).
