It's frustrating to have to swipe the card twice and then go in and negotiate with the cashier to finish my fillup. Are there gasoline brands that don't do this?

$75, consider yourself lucky. They shut off at $50 here.

We have some at $50 here and some at $75 here. What bothers me more than that is when the pumps don't reset to $0 before you pump. The clerks never seem to care so I just go elsewhere.

Some are fifty and some are seventy five. The stations blame it on the Credit card company and the Credit card co's blame the station. It is the stations who set the limits, but they can do whatever they want to do, just like the oil companies.

It's not the gasoline brand - it's the credit card processor, although I think the station could assume the risk if they wanted. Around here it used to be $50 for Visa and $75 for M/C. They've since raised it.
Where else can you put $75 on a credit card and not sign for it?

Unless you are just "topping off" your fuel, it is almost a given you will need incur a greater charge than $75.00. DH usually goes in and tells the cashier his intent and then fills up. No problem.

That's what is nice about going around to the truck side. I'm surprised on how many people with pickup trucks who do this when pulling a trailer. Although I did run into a station that had a $50. limit. Yes, it was the semi truck pumps too. Only had one, but the price was cheap.

I use Shell branded MasterCard and it goes above $75 at Shell stations. Also gives 5% back on Shell gas purchases.
If you use one brand get their gas card and you may not be subject to the Visa/Mastercard rules.
