Ok guys I need to hear some real world feedback and this line of toy hauler. We've narrowed our search down to a couple of brands and we're leaning toward the XLR 385x12 by Forest River. I've been told that the XLR was formerly called the All American Sport.

The unit we're looking at has 2 large slides in the living area and a small slide in the bedroom. It also has the gelcoat exterior. The generator is an Onan 5.5 and it has it's own 15 gallon gas tank. The neat thing about that is that the gas tank for the generator is next to the fuel station where there's another 20 gallons that I can transfer to the generator. With 35 gallons of gas available we should be able to run on the generator for quite a while.

I would appreciate any feedback you can give me on this line of toy haulers.

Thanks!

550,
I looked for at least 3 months at different models to a point where I was just out of my mind. The XLR was the All American Sports from Forest River. Actually, in 06' & 07', they made them both. After hearing and reading a lot of bad comments on the All American Sport I was not interested. I ended up making a trip to Maryland from Va. to look at the Heartland Cyclone 3795(which I was dead set on) and after looking at the Cyclone, it just wasn't what I had hoped it would be. I thought the outside was great, but when I got inside I just couldn't put my finger on what I didn't like about it. I looked at a few others and they had the an XLR 37X12 in stock. Since I was there I figured "what will it hurt?" Well to my suprise I really liked it! I picked and picked and couldn't find anything wrong with it. After that day, I continued to look for another 2 months. I was down to the Cross Terrain, the KZ New Vision and the XLR. I couldn't get the Cross Terrain because I couldn't get 16" wheels and tires or the axle flipped (according to the factory rep.) and KZ stopped producing the 38SB I liked. Everything led right back to the XLR. I'm glad I waited because during the time I spent looking and looking, they came out with a new floorplan which was the 37X12SA. It has the same combined bath as the 39X12 and we could still get the sliding door to the garage. I really like the 385X12 too but another slide just might be too much. If you search the site, there is a guy named David that purchased a 39X12 last November. He said he picked his unit to death and is very happy with it. He talked with a rep. from Forest River before purchasing his and I think the guy told him that they built a toy hauler only plant to increase quality control. Search XLR and you'll find it I sure. I'm expecting my unit in any day now. Hope this helps.

amberjax, Thanks for the info. I also couldn't find anything wrong with the XLR we looked at recently. The fit and finish seemed to be better than any of the other units we had looked at up to that point. We thought that the search was over until this weekend and now we're trying to decide between the XLR 385X12 and the KZ Inferno 3912.

Thanks again and happy camping!

Looked at the XLR trailers at the RV show and really liked them. Very well made rigs. They really paid attention to the finishing details. The only thing that turned me away was the 100 gal. fresh water tanks. Our Rage'n has 150 gal tank and with the wife and two daughters.........lets just say I'm not leaving a very long water trail from our camp site after a three day weekend.

Hi, do I know how you feel, I have looked at every website and lots apond lots of toyhaulers and we decided on the xlr by forest river, the 37x12sa model. These are why- for one thing the bathroom is it own room,(not the shower in the master bedroom, that just drives me nuts, like I want dirt in my bedroom) the onan generator with the fuel station, triple axles, our truck can haul it,(these toy haulers are heavy)..and it looks and feels like it is a good quality trailer, we ordered one and are to recieve it at the end of may and got a great deal.Hope this helps, Good luck on your search.

Do some searching on warranty response. I think you will find those of us who have KZ products find them to be pretty good. Be sure in any event you upgrade your tires to "G" rated. It will save you a lot of headaches.

Hi guys. I was wondering if you could give me your views on the XLR 37x12sa model verses the Fuzion 362? I like both and would like to hear the pros and cons of each.
Thank you,
Teddy

We really like the 3712, but ended up going with the 3912 because it gives you a real "living room" feel with an area in front of the entertainment center where the little guys can play and fall asleep in front of the TV! One big thing we were looking for was a model that the kitchen could be packed without opening slides, as we dont have room on the side of house to open them! If you get a model with a center island counter, many of them block the fridge unless you open the slide. So far we love the trailer and have it back at the dealer for "miner" fixes but nothing to keep us from using it. The quality and finish is excellent. Search XLR in the search bar and you will find a few postings. Overall, we are VERY happy with our purchase, just keep in mind these units are BIG! The 3712 and 3812's are not much shorter than ours (41ft) if at all. Good luck!
