Hi all... We left Pahrump this morning and are now about 60 miles from Reno, where we will try to find a casino to stay the night. So far everything is going well with D@d's rig. First time we ever towed a car! Kind of nervewracking driving someone else's RV but it has really low miles.

Sorry about the poster who lost your mom... mine died Sept 2006 so losing D@d on the heels of that is hard! An orphan 2 weeks b4 my 48th bday.

To those who really want to make donations, well, the heart assoc. is the obvious frontrunner! Both my parents and both grandfathers died of heart disease. My husband (D@d's nephew - yep, I married my cousin with his full blessing) had a heart attack 6 years ago at only 44. The dr's are keeping a close eye on me too. Heart disease, like diabetes which I was dx'd with in 2006, are national epidemics.

My other pet charity, if you'll forgive the pun, is the humane society. We just adopted a rescue from the pound (see at www.mclaughalots.com/beau/). Missing him on this trip! Well, he'll go on the next one.

Thanks, guys. This is helping me a lot.

Lorelle

Lorelle..........
Be safe in your travels home. When I spent a weekend with your dad in Roseburg a couple years ago he was sure proud in showing my a ton of photos. I stayed with him in his RV and he was so proud being a moderator with RV.net and of his MSN Open Roads Group. His friendship will always be remembered with the kindest thoughts. I remember when all us moderators were betting if he would really show up with his motor home at the 2nd moderator get together towing his car. It was kind of an inside joke with him and us mods, but it's a good thing I didn't wager any money as he indeed showed up with car in tow. His memory will be with us all forever. Dick was a good man and made such a positive impact on all he met and along with an enormous contribution to the RV'ing community.

I never had the opportunity to meet Dick but felt like I knew him from the forum. He was a kind person and will be greatly missed. God speed Snowbird.

I still just can't believe he's gone. Every once in awhile, I see a post here that I think he might move or possibly poof, and then I remember.... If we miss him so much, I can't imagine how it is for Lorelle. Let us know how you're doing, Lorelle, and please post the link to your dad's memorial website when you have it ready.

Here's the latest info I received from Dick's daughter, Lorelle, yesterday morning when I logged in to my email at school:

Hi Sue,

Here's the site I've created for my dad:

http://www.mclaughalots.com/dad/

All funeral/burial details will be posted on the home page as they
become available. Pass it along!

Thanx,

Lorelle

Perhaps someone else can make sure this info to gets to other forums that Dick was active in on here? I'm not sure how many he participated in.

Thank you, Lorelle, for this update, and continued sympathy from all of us on this forum and from all of our beloved pets whose lives Dick touched.
