I hate to hear things like this, he was a nice fellow. I didn't think he was very old, was he sick or did something happen to him?

Dick's daughter, Lorelle, posted a couple of messages on the Pet Stop Forum and asked me if I would be sure to pass them on to other concerned forums. Below is one she posted a couple of days ago. Others can be found on the Pet Stop forum.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi everyone! I'm Dick's daughter, Lorelle. My husband and I are in his RV in Pahrump, NV, getting it ready to drive up to Tacoma WA where we live.

To those who wonder what happened, well, he's been battling heart disease for decades. The official cause of death was arterial sclerosis cardiac pulmonary disease. He died in bed clutching his heart. We think it was over very quickly and that he didn't suffer.

I know you guys all miss him, but what you probably don't know is how much you all meant to HIM. Seriously, you were the reason he kept going despite all his health hardships. Even when we all got together last Father's Day at Rising River RV park, he never stayed at our RV for long. He was always in a big hurry to get back to moderating RV.net. It was all he talked about, and all he cared about. You all were his second family -- those he met as well as those he had yet to meet.

I'll be working on a memorial website for him when we get home. The URL will be www.mclaughalots.com/dad/ (not working yet) -- it will be mainly photos from his first 50 years. (I wish it would let me name the folder d@d, as that is how he always signed his emails & even offline letters to me.)

I can be reached by email at LANDL at mclaughalots.com -- I may not have a chance to check messages at RV.net that often this week.

Bless you all for making my father's last years the best of his too-short life!

Lorelle

Thank you Nasoosie for letting Dau. and I know the sad news about Dick. How suddenly life can take an unexpectid turn! I did not have the pleasure of meeting Dick in person, but chatted with him many times on the ORS Forum. My heart goes out to his daughter and family.....I expect that God is his infinite mercy will have Dick waiting on the other shore to greet us warmly when our time comes.....E.T., the mowrman.....

Just read this unfortunate news. Dick will be sadly missed by us all.
I know this forum was important to him, as it is to all of us. A better
moderator there never was. I never had the opportunity to meet him but have communicated with him many times and feel I knew him somewhat.

Our condolences to all his family and friends.
