We are new at this AZ RV title thing and need some guidance on the procedure. We have bought a new 2008 Park Model from the lot of an Arizona dealer, no trade in, cash deal. He has our check issued on Saturday, for the full amount of purchase, there is no Realtor, Escrow or legal authority involved like a house deal. The dealer says he is bonded. The dealer completed a title registration form for us with the understanding he will register it with motor vehicles and the unit is to be delivered to our lot on Wednesday of next week. I thought that we should be the ones to register the vehicle as opposed to the dealer? Also, how does one verify the dealer is bonded in a manner that protects our interests on this kind of a purchase?

I would think that if this dealer has been in business a number of years, you should be OK. Being just down the block from you, why not watch the move from start to finish, OH, photos of the move are nice to keep.
I Wonder what the AZ tax is on NEW trailers, I know cars are KILLERS.

My DW bought a car at the Honda Dealership here in Yuma that we will keep here in Yuma. They took care of every thing. The ownership papers came in the mail about two weeks later.

Am I to assume there are different procedures in every county? Why should our location matter? Or more bluntly, why would you want this information? Feel free to PM me if you want to discuss, thanks.

For a Park Model the tax payable is 9.5% of 65% of the purchase price. It is assumed that 35% of the selling value is construction labour which is not taxable.

I am not sure I can answer all of your questions but I have a question for your question. Did you get paperwork regarding your purchase and with a delivery date clearly written down? Most dealers will do the registration themselves to make sure it is registered and no longer in their name. If you recieved your paperwork with the identifying information of the trailer and the delivery date and address of the delivery then there should be no problem with your purchase.

The paper work (purchase agreement) has only their lot stock number on it, the full VIN is not mentioned. The VIN is on the frame of the unit and I printed it on the "FOR" field on the face of the final payment cheque and I have verified it from the frame. The only date is the date the initial deposit was made, no mention of a specific delivery date, delivery date was agreed verbally.
