My brother has a 2005 FR Travel Trailer and neither of the two slides will open. He manually cranked out the main slide so he could check voltage. He gets 6 volts to the switch on the wall, all fuse blocks show 13volts. He gets voltage at the motor when he pushes the switch. He can't check the rear as he can't get to the manual crank. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions? Is the voltage correct at the Wall? He is plugged up the shore power and its 30amp service on the TT.

Since neither slide works and voltage is present, it sounds like a lock out device is keeping the slides from activating. On my MH, if the ignition is on or trans not in "N", the slides will not operate.

Check the circuit breakers that are "resettable" should be mounted near the batteries or near the pump for the slide. Usually black, mounted 2-3 in a row. The one blown should have a tab sticking out of the side to let you know it has tripped. Push the tab back in to reset.

The voltage should be 12 volts thru out. FR does not use any 6 volt circuits on their Trailers. What is the voltage at the motor? Has he checked that? Doug

If he gets voltage to the motor, but the motor does not run, then either 1: The motor is bad or 2: the manual clutch used to enable manual operation is in the "Released" position. (if such a clutch exists)
If he gets voltage to the motor and the motor runs but the slide does not move, then there is a shear pin or bolt sheared or a gear is broken.
And that is the list of possible conditions
Oh, one additional condition here where I"m at
Moisture between the seal and the wall has frozen and the slide is literally FROZEN in place, this is not, of course, the condition once he's manually cranked it out.. But it is a problem I have in my "house" A well placed foot "Assists" the slide in sliding in my case
Nothin adds excitment like something that is none of your business

THANKS FOR ALL THE RESPONSES!
This is what he found out ..Quote "It was my battery. Wouldn't work hooked to shore line with a dead battery. Very strange. I had it on the charger all day and it looks like I will have to replace it."
I wouldnt have thought that would have affected the slides but I do know when you have a bad battery that sure can make thing go haywire.
