We added a Winegard crankup satellite dish to our MH. I strongly recommend the one with the elevation display option. We had ours installed separately from out existing batwing antenna. I think they do make combination units that have a batwing antenna built into the manual satellite dish so that it can be installed to replace the existing batwing antenna.
We had a winegard roadtrip installed on our new GS 6316 Went with this one because they offer a 12" high version and it can be upgraded to in motion down the road. I haven't used it yet (see all the snow in the pic) but trees shouldnt be an issue as most of the time we will be at the racetrack. I had my selling dealer install it as part of the deal but I went over the instalation instructions myself and they looked pretty straightforward. They for some reason do want it mounted dead center on the coach and oriented a certain way. Here is a shot from the side you can see it just in front of the roof A/C
We had a Kingdome stationary, automatic (#9704 LP-B) installed and love it. One push of the button and it finds the satellite. It was installed between the front Fantastic Fan and the 1st. AC on the centerline of the MH. We retained the batwing antenna for use as desired. We debated between a crank up antenna and a dome. Eventually decided on the dome for ease of operation and not forgetting to drive away w/o lowering.
Sure glad we got the dome as we are currently just outside of Palm Springs, CA and have had a couple of days with VERY high winds. Had to pull in the slide outs one night, but never lost TV.

This is the reason I went with the dome, the wind. A friend of mine has the winegard crank up and has to strap it down if the wind comes up.
