Confirmed - the 2009 Honda Fit auto is towable 4 down. I have one on order (dealer called today to let me know it had arrived) and downloaded the instr manual from the Honda Site. Says the same thing as the 08-towable 4 down if procedure is followed every 8 hours and speed does not exceed 65 mph. Now I have to wait for a base plate to be designed by Blue Ox. Good luck!
I keep reading about the pretow procedure but my manual says only "start engine, shift to drive, shift to neutral and leave key in auxillary position so the wheels can turn (side to side). Is that all there is? and if so, why that procedure?

2004 Accord V6 automatic
For our 2001 CRV and our 2008 Fit, the manual states the following for automatics. I'm quoting verbatim from the CRV manual. I'm sure the instructions for flat-towing the Fit are the same:
Quote: Start the engine.
Press on the brake pedal. Shift the lever through all positions (P, R, N, D, 2, 1)
Shift to D, then to N. Let the engine run for three minutes, then turn off the engine.
Release the parking brake.
Leave the ignition switch in Accessory so the steering wheel does not lock. Make sure the radio and any items plugged into the accessory power sockets are turned off so you do not run down the battery.
Extended towing: If you tow more than 8 hours in one day, repeat the above procedure at least every 8 hours.

Do you have a link to the manual. I'd love to get a copy of it. Thinking about a 2009 fit also.
