The Onan in my Arctic Fox 1150 started surging this weekend while attending the Nascar race in Las Vegas. If running to charge the batteries it will do it, and if I put a larger load on it like the air conditioner or the microwave it will smooth out. If anyone has had this problem and was able to resolve it (without taking it out and adding a Honda 2000)I would appreciate it. Thanks for the help this forum has some great ideas on it. Sean

Being a technician I have experienced this sort of thing all to often. For the most part it is gas models with gumed up carbs. I would say the first thing is to get in there with an air hose and blow the entire unit out. Animals love building nests in generators and these can cause problems. If that does not solve your problem there are just two other areas that are prime suspect and fuel control is the most likely. the other is the computer board but not likely as you discribe. I would guess you have******and oil and god knows what obstructing the fuel passages in the delivery system.
There is a small rubber tube that protrudes from the bottom, outside of the genset. Often bugs build webs in it. After cleaning with a flexible wire, I made a screen filter. It is a common problem with this unit. I'd try this first.
