8 days to Spring Break. DD will be laying on a beach in Florida. DH is trying to get a building "out of the snow and mud". I would love to go trout fishing, but it's too cold for me to camp this time of year, and nothing is turned on at the campgrounds around here. So me and the boys will just hang around the house. I'm going to buy them and X-box since we won't be going anywhere.

My kiddie isn't in school yet so we're heading to Pigeon Forge, TN on the 20-23. At least I do get Good Friday off!

Hi

Well for the first time in ten years it looks like we are staying home and not heading down to Myrtle Beach, "sorta been there and done that". With the high cost of "Everything" this year we decided we would rather have a great summer of regional trips rather than one spring break and a few local summer trips.

I can remember our first trip down to MB Gasoline was 93 cents per gallon less than $200 in fuel and a week at Lakewood would cost us around $180! Last year in cost me nearly $600 in fuel and over $350 for the campground, so after spending nearly $2k for our spring break vacation which was mostly a wash out we're going to skip this year, hopefully the kids will appreciate it more when we return the next time and not just take it for granted.

Assateague Island, same as always. It will be cold, this i know. but there aren't many people there and its a good time to just GET AWAY for a few days. It could be worse...the first year my wife and i were married we did the trip and tent camped. The cold wasn't so bad but they only had cold water outdoor showers. on the 3rd day i couldn't take it anylonger...i NEEDED to get clean. I put my wetsuit (we kayak) on, heated water on the camp stove and bathed in my wet suit. OOOOO to be young and dumb again.

Not to many women would have put up with 'vacationing' in such a way, I AM A LUCKY GUY. Gee i hope she reads this!
