We just bought a new Winnie Tour and so far, love it. This is our second Winnebago and as with our first one, stuff just works. The systems are well engineered, the coach seems well put together and works as planned. It was very interesting to compare other coaches, especially in the areas that are less visible. Some of the items we compared are:
*storage door hinges -- Winnie and the better coaches used piano type hinges and good quality latches. We saw some that had angle iron welded to threaded rod as the hinge -- wow!
* light switches that are labeled and easy to find/use. Many coaches had no switches for overhead lights or had switches spread all over the place.
* Carrying capacity. Winnebago (and a few others) had carrying capacity computed assuming 4 people and full tanks (and had plenty to spare). Several others fudged with 2 people (and still had light capacity).
Anyway, I suspect these sorts of factors are a big reason Winnebago has been around for 50 years. Heres hoping for 50 more!

I bought my current Winnebago new just over 20 years ago. It is holding up just fine, and the design still works very well for us.

This is one of the reasons that to the non RVing public, Winnebago equals motorhome.

We have 2 of the 400,000 units. We enjoy both and use them for different purpose. Everything works well on both MHs.
