Okay, one last shot.

If the answer is some sort of secret handshake wink wink thing, please feel free to send me a private message.

What time of day (not year) does the ReserveAmerica window for Florida State Parks open?

Thanks.

Tried that.

Obviously, I missed the memo on how to book Florida State Park sites. Anyone who has received the memo can PM me the "how-to's".

I'll buy you a beer.

I can not guarantee this but I have had some luck at 7:00am on the morning of 11 months out. I have several sites that I like at some of the popular Florida State parks and this is how I reserve them for the dates I want.

I went in this morning at 7:00 a.m. est at the 11 month window and the system told me to try back at 8:00 a.m. I did and I was able to book what I wanted. However, last week I was watching for an availability for this weekend and when I looked at 4:00 p.m. nothing was available but when I pulled it up at 6:30 p.m., I got lucky and there was a site available at the park I wanted. It looks like when someone cancels, it goes right in.

Calling Reserve America for something other than what is available on-line in their database is an exercise in organizational disfunctionality.

I was trying to reserve a site at a National Monument. Two hours after I checked availability and went back to make the reservation, all sites, all dates, for the balance of the year were unavailable.

Three e-mails and two phone calls to Reserve America produced a lot of frustration, but no attempt by them to investigate and answer my question. I later received an e-mail explanation from the head National Park Service ranger at the location I wanted to stay! Despite his best efforts, it was an additional 8 days before Reserve America updated their website availability.

Fortunately for me, it was fixed in time for me to make the resevation I desired. I'm leaving tomorrow.
