Prices here are all over the charts. I paid $3.279 a couple of days ago with prices ranging from $3.179 to 3.349 for reg uneaded. Diesel goes for around $3.499 to $3.799. Still see people at the pumps at the highest priced stations. Brand loyalty I suppose. Veer off of the high volume through streets and prices are generally a little less on the back streets.

There's a great color coded map by price on gasprices.com that shows the US by county and state. Gives you a national look at what's going on.

riverdog wrote: Nothing about the pres. Its just when people campare our fuel prices to the Europeans fuel prices. Thats all. Two different ball games there and then you sum it up with "we should feel lucky". Makes zero sense.
I compared it to show that things could be worse and trust me, they could be.
"Makes zero sense" and "This might be the most ridiculous reply on any forum I have ever read in my life." Are two different ball games too. Unless of course you are just trying to embarass or defame someone with that weak sauce. You could have just said "That makes zero sense".
This problem is all over the world, we aren't the only ones and yeah, we ARE lucky.

Who or why should care what goes on in Europe.
I for one only concerned about the USA. The rest can worry about them self's.
I'm getting tired of taking care of other countries or even caring about them.
We had better start looking after AMERICA.......

Not sure which Michigan on what planet you found diesel for $3.99 a gal. You must have looked hard to have the honor of paying so much. I live in West Michigan and just filled my Chev D/A tank today for $3.59 a gal at Meijers. Our Son and another friend both live just north of Detroit and said the diesel is in the $3.70 range there. He's about 200 miles east of us.
Travelnutz - I think you better go back and look at those gas price signs today. I live in SE Michigan also. I passed at least 7 gas stations on my way to work this morning. At everyone of them, diesel was at least $0.95 higher per gallon then gas, and at everyone of them, diesel was at least $3.98 / gal. And all of those station were on this planet, in this Michigan, today, real time (including the Meijer's in Taylor).

People on here have said it doesnt have anything to do with the government, well i am a bit confused. Why is it not being looked into by them? when gas prices started to climb we were told that it was caused by the storms in the gulf and rigs being shut down. Where are the storms now? If it is caused by stock trading then maybe the government needs to step in an take a look at that also. This is killing the middle class and soon the country will see that when people park their SUV's Trucks and RV's, then all the business' that relied on their business are going too feel it...its an ugly loop we are heading into.
This is the first time in 20 years that i have told my heating oil company to only deliver their minimum 100 gallon.
Also i do realize Europe and canada have been paying more for fuel then us for a long time, but did the cost double in 2 years.

We are lucky. You whiners just need to go sell your trucks and buy a Honda. You wanna play you gotta pay.
I bought a 08 F250 PSD that gets 15mpg and I drive it to work everyday. Spend 100-125 every week in diesel. Love the truck. I bought it because i wanted it and I could afford it.
If you bought a big truck and cannot afford to drive it then you made a mistake. You when grown-ups play poker of blackjack at the casino there is a table minimum. If you don't have the scratch you don't sit down.
As someone has mentioned diesel is a case of supply and demand and demand is high. If all you crybabies would park those trucks I would pay less for diesel. And yes compared to Europe we are still getting a bargain.
There is this notion that the oil companies are raping us because they make money. Really!? Do you work for free? The oil companies make so little money on a per gallon basis for gasoline or ddiesel that you would be stunned to here the actual number. The government makes a LOT more money on our fuel the the oil company.
And our government makes a lot less of our fuel then the european governments do. That is why we are indeed lucky. We get to live in this great counrty and still pay a lot less in taxes then Europe.
As to Venenzuala (Spelling LOL ) give me a break, fuel is 25 cents a gallon there because Hugo is bribing his citizens while he takes away all thier rights. Did you ever read "Watership Down"? That is exactly what is going on there. You wanna move there?
