When talking about my RVing life and MH to non RV'ers I have heard the reply several times " Oh, you have a Winnebago". This doesn't bother me because I now have a Winnebago. However, some friends of mine who do not own a Winnebago have been told the same thing to their dismay. Has this happened to you?

At one time that's all there was so everybody called a MH a Winnebago. Just like radar detectors. Fuzz Buster was the first and original. When you tell someone you have a radar detector they say "oh you have a Fuzz Buster".

As I am sure you are aware the term "Winnebago" is generic for "motor home". It is like when people ask for a "Coke" instead of a cola, or a "Cresent" wrench instead of an adjustable wrench, etc.

PS - Happy Birthday Winnebago!

Who cares unless you are another manufacture. I think Winnebago has made over 400,000 MH which is more than any other manufactures

Oh yeh. Also non-RVers have referred to it as camper, trailer, van, and one of my personal favorites, school bus. Bite me. Oh well, quite honestly they also would certainly not understand the price of some of the rigs, or all for that matter, and the fuel we all burn on one short run.
I better stop thinking about it or I will think we are all crazy too. I will just go back to my covered wagon and forget it.
