Made my first trip in the RV since installing the TPMS. Not 6 miles from home got an alarm. I could not tell which tire was giving the problem because the back light is not quite bright enough. Pulled over to check and found the the valve stem extension including the sensor was missing. How it came loose, I do not know. Now I get to see if Saf-Tee will replace the sensor as they claim. Wish me luck. Do any others of you find it hard to read the monitor? I mounted mine directly in front under the speedometer.

We got our first visual/audio SAF-TTE warning alarm yesterday. We was kind of bored so we make a run in the MH up to the KY Lake state park late yesterday and when by the marina to check boat rental rates, walk the shore line, and since there was a Coon Hunting event going on we got to visit a vendor selling coon dog puppies at $200 a pop but the mom had won $14K in cash over the years. Oh yes we ate at the lodge and got to see an outdoor wedding.

When we pulled back into the drive the SAF-TTE computer started beeping and flashing a low tire on the toad that was sitting in the drive. By looking at the tire I could not see it was low but the alarm when off at 23 pounds when 35 is our normal pressure.

This afternoon we confirmed it was a true positive and added air to the tire. A few days ago I had moved the computer to the toad and noticed the tire was reading 28 which as 6-7 pound lower than the others.

It is nice to know SAF-TTE TPMS works as it is promoted to work. Now after 3 month or o of using their TPMS I can report in our case it worked.

By the way we have never mounted the computer but just toss it where I can get to it. In the Blazer that is usually the front right seat or the dash on the MH since it is large, flat and padded. Reading it is very easy if we are look into the monitor face to face. Often the kids where ever they are setting will pull temp/pressure readings from time to time and report them to me.

I am sure mounting it is fine but it just does not make sense for us to do so the way we use. The toad is driven daily and the MH every week or two. We get a few weeks out of one charging of the computer so the charger stays plugged into the MH dash as a rule so we know were it is at.

Mine warned me of a low tire (15 psi) on the toad about 1/2 way between Calgary and Banff. I think the leak was in the valve stem/sensor area, but the system worked as advertized.

I ordered mine on 7/21/08, and they charged my credit card on the 23ed. On Friday I emailed them and asked for a status of shipping and they emailed back today (7/28) stating that they would ship this week or next. I knew when I ordered them that they were waiting for a delivery. I have a little time before my next trip, so I hope it works out ok.

On a trip I thought after being parked for two days that our unit had failed. It wouldn't even light the screen. Sadly I started up to travel home, and then it came back to life.

There must be a circuit built in that cuts it off when the battery gets to a low voltage state.

It's in our shed right now and it has quit again but I'll bet it lights up when I start the engine.

It does seem to power down on our as well but unless totally discharged a touch will turn it own. I have seen it come back on after a couple weeks on the battery so it has to power down to last that long.

Quote:

Our local law enforcement is investigating a possible credit card scheme that is looking for any kind of information that can help them investigate a credit card fraud to our company. We are looking for any email that may have circulated that has given people a way to receive credits to their card for twice the amount of charges that was applied by their cards from SAF-TTE, LLC. The customers asked us to credit their account, and asked their credit card company for a chargeback in the same amount that was to be applied to their credit cards

I also received this email...but now it gets more interesting...

The other day I received a letter from Transworld Systems Collection Agency telling me that I owe SAF-TTE $430.92.

It seems they think I am one of these folks. I ordered my system on 2/2/08 - nothing arrived, so I tried to cancel the order in early April, but did not hear anything and could not get through on their lines. I then launched a dispute with the CC company, and did receive a credit for the dispute a few days later. SAF-TTE did send an email shortly after that saying that they would credit my CC, but I never saw the credit on my card. As of June 11, my CC company told me the investigation was complete and all was well.

Now I am out for collections...To say I am angry is an understatement as they did not even try to reach me to resolve any issues. Is that legal?

After a few calls/messages to SAF-TTE I finally got through to someone who insisted I had received 2 credits – one from them and one from the CC company. My statements show no second credit. The only thing they would believe was a copy of my credit card statement, which I didn’t feel comfortable sending….

After calling my CC company, they said that SAF-TTE was given back the duplicate credit on 4/21, but that their bank had not acted on it. They said they have since seen activity on their end and that my issue should be resolved very soon. I told SAF-TTE this and they were going to look into it and get back to me.

Will keep you posted.

I wonder if this problem indicated in their email that they sent was really a problem with their transaction bank all along....

Update: Spoke to SAF-TTE and I have been removed from their Collection list. I hope this is the end of it.

I think we will be hearing more of this as they go through their records looking for double credits and people who got their credit card to give a credit then received their product without paying for it. Keep good records for proof of credit card credits just in case. The credit card companies can always supply proof of credits and resolve it in your behalf.
