Everyone knows about the big name National Parks - i.e. Yellowstone, Tetons, Grand Canyon etc but what about the rest? Which National Parks have you visited or camped in? Which should we not miss?

Love to hear from anyone who wants to chime in but just so you know our situation, we are full-timing just 4 months now and are in a 40 foot class A motorhome. Also we are both retired military so we have access to military campgrounds too.

We're in Florida right now since that is where we sold our home, going to Ontario for a wedding late July this year. Also planning 3 months for Alaska in summer of 2009.

Thanks for any thoughts you care to share.

One of our favorites is Jasper National Park in Alberta, Canada. We too are 40' and have no problem getting into Whistlers camp in Jasper. If you make res far enough in advance some have hook-ups. We stayed once with and once with-out (Didn't make res far enough in adavance). They have nice showers, all the firewood you want, free, but you must purchase a campfire permit and the spaces are large enough for our 40' with tow. The Elk just roam the camp. Jasper is a nice little town to visit. Both times we were there the rodeo was in town which was great.
Be safe in your travels and have fun. Make the most of your life while you still have it. Janet

We've visited a bunch of NPs but our favorite is Big Bend NP. Second favorite, Glacier NP. Bryce Canyon is right up there, too!

Utah has some great ones not to be missed. Zion, Bryce, Arches, Canyonlands.

We have visited many national parks, most of our favorite are out west. But to pick a favorite would be hard. Something special about each one.

See you on the road!

Great question and don't rush to see them all at once! We have been fortunate to see a lot of them - really love the ones here in the West. Utah has been mentioned and all are different and spectacular - but don't miss Capital Reef there as well.

We love Rocky Mountain and lived in Estes Park 1995-2003. Been to Glacier a few times and can't wait to get back. And here in AZ is Grand Canyon.

But there are also lots of great state parks to see as well as the Oregon Coast - one of our favorite places.

To see pix of some of the parks mentioned above just head to our website www.laurenbarbara.com and to to 2007 - 2006 trips.

God bless - be safe - enjoy the day!

Career military long time campers and old so we have beeen to most of the National parks - but the well kept secret is Great Basin - They have a great cave tour, good campgrounds, super trails and no crouds. The only accomodations are their campgrounds so keeps the undesirables away, no motels, no fast food and no torist kind of stuff.

I can't compete with the above list, but we've stayed at some of those - Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, Badlands, Mt. Rushmore, T Roosevelt, Little Bighorn, Rocky Mountain, Arches plus Mammoth Cave National Park, Smokey Mts., Everglades,Olympic and Canyonlands (Carlsbad Caverns and GCNP among those scheduled for this year)and I KNOW I've forgotten some in this list. We've been to the Gateway Arch many times - is it a national park! I'll stay in a National Park over a commercial campground any time I get the chance!

We've been to many, many National Parks, National Monuments, National Historic Parks, National Volcanic Parks, etc, etc. So many it would take a long time to remember them all. I think the average citizen would be amazed at the beauty, serenity and educational value of our park system.
