This is the best piece of advice I think I've seen on any forum.

StanBNV...Bud, you NAILED it! We made the mistake once of ordering a new MAJOR BRAND 5er based on a new floorplan we had only seen in brochures. We knew the brand well. We upgraded the rear recliners to "King" size.

Result...The slides would not close without taking the backs off the chairs & moving the bases to the middle of the coach between the slides. They were too wide!

Apparently neither the dealer or mfr had considered anybody ordering "oversize" recliners. But they still shipped it that way!

MHO...Your results may vary!

Take a look at Titaniumn by Glendale. Made in Canada, built for the cold (thus heat) and is a quality mid level fifth wheel. Also, the unique front design really works for us.

I'm really suprised no one answered who was a Doubletree owner. Maybe they are to busy out enjoying their unit. I think they are well built and great floorplans. Any owners lide to reply?

I kinda skimmed over the responses --didn't see any regarding the Arctic Fox, made by Northwood, in La Grande, Or. Just a thought.
Also, I saw a lot of discussion on getting a good dealer---actually, you need to make sure you have a "GOOD" service dept--usually the sales and service depts are run totally seperately---talk to folks that have dealt with the service dept and see if they recommend it. Good Luck, Lars

I agree on the dealer and service department with which ever you decide. Future support (and you'll need it regardless) will make life easier. I'm very happy with my choice and have had no real issues - just the minor stuff. Not sure which unit I'll get if/when I change and will start researching all over again. Hopefully, by that time, alot of things will have changed for the better. JMHO....

flrvman: Both myself and "Motor31" who have responded to this thread own Doubletree units and I believe we are both happy with our units. They have one of the better insulation packages with full 3 & 1/4" thick walls. Yep, they have a Lippert frame & hydraulic systems. I've experienced no problems with mine related to the Lippert systems. Yes, I've had issues with the trailer that I've dealt with by myself for the most part and when the factory was involved (unit shipped with wrong furninshings due to new saleman inputting wrong codes) they've been helpful to the extreme. I'm particularly happy with the running gear with it's 8,000lb axles, Trailair Center Point air suspension, hydraulic disc brakes, 17.5" - "H" rated tires.

When optioning any trailer, my advice would be to go with heavier rated axles and tires if offered by manufacture.
