I am leaving on 3/20 for Florida. Right now we have 12 inches of snow but the warm up is supposed to start in two days. I really want to dewinterize to make sure everything is working alright. If I dewinterize and it goes below freezing again, should it be ok if i set up a couple of heaters inside the motorhome should that prevent the pipes from freezing?

Thanks

Just leave the heater set on 50 degrees and open the cabinet doors
to the sinks and you should be ok.

Haver a safe trip!

If you do that you will have to leave your hot water on any water in there will freeze also any outside/exposed plumbing that gets water in it, valves, tanks etc. could freeze. I would do it just before your ready to leave and put your furnace on low. JIM

I also live in a cold climate area. I never start my camping season on a long and expensive trip. I will always take a short trip and camp near home (no more than 100 miles or so) for my first trip of the season. That way (most likely) I can check everything for possible damages that may of happen from having the RV sit thru the winter. At the first camping trip, this is also the time when I will flush out the anitfreeze. Eventhough I am hooked up to water and utilities, I will also flush out the freshwater holding tank since I have plenty of water available and a sewer drain at the campground.

It is alot easier to get repairs done at home, instead of having it spoil a long trip. Yeah things always happens, but IMHO, a little pretrial helps...
