Need any feedback from anyone who has this type of tent. Ozark Trail 11x9 Vacation Cottage cabin style tent. I bought it at Walmart. It has the cabin tent with an attached front tarp for a front porch. i plan to use it for a week long tent camping/base camp trip this summer. How is it in wet weather and winds. I set it up by myself pretty easy. but the material sure seems thin. I guess I'm used to the think army style tent material. Need any feed back on this type of tent or any Ozark trail tent.

The Ozark Trail tents at Walmart are made of nylon taffeta that is much thinner than the old canvas tents. You can touch nylon tents in the rain without causing a leak and it is much lighter to carry. The fabric, poles and stitching are of lower quality than better (higher priced) tents so don't expect them to last as long as a quality tent. On the other hand, you could probably buy 4 Walmart tents for the price of one REI tent of the same size.
It will do fine as a base camp tent when new if it has a fly that goes all the way down the sides of the tent. Many cheaper tents don't have a Full Coverage fly. In any case, be sure to buy a couple of bottles of seam sealer and apply it to the seams of the fly and floor only. That's where it will leak if it's going to.
Use a ground cloth (aka footprint) that's slightly smaller then the floor of the tent to prevent punctures and add life to the tent floor.

It'll do fine if it doesn't rain. My company is a Wal-Mart supplier and they are relentless on price cuts. Ozark Trail is a Wal-Mart exclusive product so you are not going to get the best quality. A lot of Wal-Mart products are of acceptable quality but getting a bad jar of peanut butter is a lot different than being soaked in a leaky tent.
If you buy it, set it up before you go and hit it with the hose. If it does OK, then by all means take it with you. If not, you'll have time to return it. Check out Dicks Sporting Goods and Sportsmans Warehouse along with Cabelas and REI.
Also, my experience with Coleman has not been good and I could not recommend them.

We use an Ozark Trail. Bought it in '05 and used it that year and in '06. Sadly, we didn't go camping last year--too busy with a new baby to remember to pack the car and get out of town.
Anyhow, it's held up pretty well. We had some intense wind in the badlands one night, so we had to take down the rainfly. Two mornings later, we had to get up at 5am and put the fly on, as the Badlands were being inundated with a soaking fog.
The brand would've never been my first choice. My mother generously picked up the tab after a severe thunderstorm took out our 20 year old Eureka. Walmart was the only option in that rural area. We've been pleasantly surprised--I didn't expect it to last as long as it has. I need to pull it out soon and inspect the nylon.
As with any tent, buy better stakes. The tiny metal ones are only good as stake-pullers and ground cloth/porch floor stakes. We stake this tent with four foot-long sand stakes, and then some of the yellow plastic stakes.

Go to REI - I think you can get a lot better for similar price. Probably even have a sale going on now.

I have a 4 man dome Ozark Trail tent...love it, and it stood up against howling winds when blue norther blew thru just great. No rain, so I don't know if it leaks or not, but I sealed seams on rain fly anyhow.

I talked with a couple at a campground who had this cabin tent and they loved it: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=4664261
They said it kept the rain out on all sides when there was an inch or two settling on the ground around the tent. I was up in a larger city at the time and found one there so I bought it. I ended up returning it. Glad I did. I found a $195 tent (the one mentioned in my sig) for $100 on clearance at Target. It was about $10 cheaper than the Wal-Mart one and is supposed to have a lifetime guarantee against tearing. It even came with a small tarp door mat with grommets for stakes and a deck of playing cards.

I have an Ozark Trail with a screen porch and I've never had any trouble with it. High winds can blow it around a bit, but as long as you stake it well you should be fine. I would suggest seam sealing it before you use it just to be safe but I've never had a leak.
