Wisconsinite here....
Planning next years winter in Florida in Port Richey....has anyone stayed at Oak Springs RV Resort there? They have a website and we've called but haven't gotten any response. There is no map of the park on their website and the one review we found is 2 years old. If anyone knows any other good places to stay in that area, under $550/month, would appreciate your comments. Thanks ahead.

We stayed at Oak Springs a few years ago and were not impressed. While there we looked a Sundance Lakes just north of there and liked the looks of it better. You can find their web page from the Wilder site. Wilder

We just got through staying at Suncoast Rv Resort in Port Richey, it's very close to Oak Springs. We were given the worst spot in the park between 2 permanents, let's just say it wasn't great. We did go and drive through Oak Springs however and liked the looks of it. Some RV's and lots of Park models which were all very cute. The clubhouse looked really nice too. Half the park is like a forest of big old trees, and the other half is more out in the open.
Someone we talked to recommended Ja Mar, but we didn't even drive through there.

Thanks much, appreciate your comments. We're trying to get close to some sort of beach, maybe within a mile or two, but that may not be possible. We still havent gotten any response. They were supposed to e-mail us the info. Guess we need to call back.

Take a look at Jamar North in New Port Richey and Three Lakes Resort in Hudson. This area of Florida is VERY Busy. The traffic along Rt 19 is horrible. There are a few small beaches in the area but nothing spectacular and not within a mile or so. Not sure if either of these parks meet your $550/month objective.

We are at the Three Lakes RV park in Hudson right now and it is a nice park where one side is mostly park model and the other side is mostly RV's. You find that a lot of the RV's are renting the lots by the year and have all the lots fixed the way that they want them. The roads are very narrow in the RV side as the park was built to have all park models and then change to RV's. This is the only park that we have ever stayed in that charges $9.75 a month for electric meter when you are on a monthly rental and also a monthly fee for water & sewer + 3.75 for billing.

Thanks for the heads up. We hate traffic & congestion. Maybe we'll just come back to the wide open spaces :-)in Texas where we're at this year.

I just stayed at Seven Springs Travel Park in New Port Richey back in January when I was visiting friends in the area. It's an older park, but seems well kept. There is a mix of snowbirds and park models that time of year, but everyone I met was nice and the bath houses are clean. It's not too far from US19, but the traffic in the immediate area is not too bad and every store you could ever need is within a couple of miles.
