Why is it that when anything the effects the oil supply, the next day there is a pice increase at the pumps? Isn't the fuel in the local tanks already there and shouldn't the price there be good for just a few days?

Come on I know profits are a must to stay in business but .75 difference for diesel vs unleaded, that is goofy!
Okay how about this, maybe when we go to wal-mart and see 2% milk for $6 a gal and regular milk for $4 a gal we will all go .... hummm takes more time time and labor to make it 2% less than whole so I don't mind paying 20% more, makes no sense to me.
Hey I know why don't the truckers bring back the 1970 convoys to Washington and make a statement, because they are the ones this is really hurting.

The (smart and successful) trucking companies raise their per mile charge or add fuel surcharges. They pay more at the pump but they charge more in return. Net result is zero. But then again, if they use rewards credit cards for their fuel purchases, they actually earn more rewards than if the price was lower. Heck, maybe this is an advantage to truckers.

Where is big oil blaming price on refinery capacity? No where, they say it is simply pricing based on what the market will bear and crude oil pricing period. Enough of the refinery/enviro excuse that is getting so old, and it doesn't even concur with big oil's admitted reasons for todays pricing. Furthermore, refineries are not cost effective to build for oil companies. They say so themselves.
You're right. I am wrong. You caught me. The price of oil has nothing to do with supply and demand. It has nothing to do with production costs. It has nothing to do with exploration costs. It has nothing to do with expensive environmental regulations. It has nothing to do with the fact that suppliers have to refine different types and grades of fuels for different locations to satisfy various government regulations.
What was I thinking? The prices are high because big oil and the present administration want the price to be high. What do I know? It's not like I am an economist. Oh wait a minute....I am!
