I just picked up my truck this morning. I had a 98 gallon auxilary tank put in the box. There is a digital read out that mounts to the dash to show me how much fuel is in the main tank and the aux tank. One thing I don't like is I thought the main tank would still read on the dash and when it got so low the aux tank would kick in and fill the main tank. The fuel gauge on my dash reads the level of both tanks. On the digital read out my main tank says 24 gallon and 41 gallons in my aux tank so the fuel gauge on my dash reads half even though the tank is about 3/4 full. It will take a little getting used to. Total cost was $2037.00 with tax.

Sorry if I posted this in the wrong place but this is my TV for my 5er.

That's exactly how their web-site describes the functionality. I would prefer it didn't act that way too.

We went with a Northen Tool RDS 60 gal box. First because of price and DH could install it himself. Then we can still use our rollup bed cover. The spout doesn't stick up over the bed like your TF does.

Thanks for the pictures & pricing, it verifies we picked the right version.

We have a 97 gal, gravity feed tank on our F350, but it does not have a separate fuel guage. With ours, the fuel guage reads full until the aux tank is empty. At that point it stops re-filling the main tank and the dash guage starts to move. Once the guage starts moving, we have about 300 miles to find fuel. Your guage system sounds much better, but ours came with the truck as is when we bought it used.

Hi,

With over 100 gallons you can go from one campground to the next or take a whole vacation without towing into a gas station. That is exactly what I want to do with a retirement tow vehicle.

And when on vacation, if you find lower cost fuel at a big truck stop, you can fill with a month worth of fuel in one stop!

I guess you really only need to pay attention to the new digital fuel gauge and startthinking about getting fuel next week when it goes below 15 gallons left.

Fred.

That's the one we wanted, but they were out of stock in Richmond. So DH asked if they had another in stock. This ONE. We didn't buy the fuel pump, but can add it later if we want.

Kit was purchased at the same time. He cut into fuel line and clamped everything together. It has a lever on outside of tank to flip. It then drains into main fuel line to refill OEM tank. DH installed everything in one afternoon, including the time to go get nuts he forgot to buy when we bought the bolts and washers.

Then he called RDS directly and bought a low profile tool box that fits near the tailgate. NT didn't have any of those.. He also called RDS because NT didn't give us a fuel cap. They sent one free and also gave him the Part # for a locking one from Wal-mart.

I dont mind that so much. I would like to be able to pump the aux tank dry when it gets down to 10 gal.

Did anyone get a larger OEM tank so you still have your truck bed free?
