uhhh...this is on a motorhome. very easy to get to all 10 plugs, as all you do is lift up the doghouse and thay are all right below you.

To do the coil and plug, the total was $289.13. (Parts were $99.00)
I can't see an O2 sensor and labor being another $300.00 plus so yeah, I think ya' paid too much.
Now, my vehicle is an F150, V-8 but it uses the same coils so unless yours was one that was in a hard-to-reach location, I would think that the price on a V-10 would be about the same.
I want the name of your ford dealer. I can never get out of there for less than 600.00 at any around me in socal.
It was Atascadero Ford when I was up on the Central Coast on vacation.

SImple repair ..... You could have bought a scan tool , the parts are a simple R&R and have a whole lot of money left over for gasoline ! Dealers are very expensive ! The overhard is huge ! The building ,employees, wife, kids and dont forget the girlfriends !

My wife and I were just talking about this the other day. We used to get great prices from contractors pre-DP. Interestingly enough, both of the heat pumps on our stick-built went out recently. We got a few quotes and were flabbergasted by the prices. We removed the coach from the picture and got more quotes and they were $5-6,000 less! It could be sheer coincidence, but somehow, I doubt it.
To the original poster: As many have said, you get what you pay for. Granted, there are occasions where you get a tech at a franchised dealership who has no business turning a wrench on a garden tractor, let alone a car... but they generally don't last long.
Personally, I prefer the peace of mind of knowing the job is done right and there's a larger organization backing the repair. You did the right thing... relax.

Last year I had some major work done on my Allegro Bay MH at the local Chevy dealer and their rate was $85 per hour. Local RV shop #1 was $135 per hour and shop #2 was $115 per hour.
The first time the dealer screwed up and had to redo the original work (brakes) but they discounted all additional work & parts to make up for the original mess up. Generally I'm satisfied with the results and we completed a 3000 mile trip in October without any problems. Plus all work and parts are covered for a year.
