We have the same on as jimwooster, heats up our fiver in pretty quick time. Has two heat settings of 750w. You can also adjust the way the flame looks and it also has a thermostat. The nice thing about is that if it dies, we can just unplug it and chuck it out! We got ours at Wally World a couple of years ago. Didn't have to do any carpentry either.

My husband installed this one last week in the bedroom of our 5er. Got it at a furniture store. $277. This one is smaller than the fireplace in the living room. We didn't have as much space to work with here. This one is a Classic Flame brand. Living room fireplace is a Dimplex.

All Lowe"s, wallmart, and Home depot, here, were competely out of them. Wouldn't order one either.

Lot of 'em on eBay. Saw some interesting designs. Our new 5W came with one--an item we didn't want. DW fell in love with it! It is cheery and we use space heaters when it is cold anyway. eBay is a lot cheaper for sure.

Go this week to Lowes, Home Depot, Walmart, etc. before they get rid of the ones they have left on sale. Saw a nice large one at Wally World for $148. Saw a nice smaller one at Home Depot for $88. Both of these came with mantles, but you can just take the unit out of the mantle and install it in a similar sized space. They are nothing but fancy space heaters that mount in a cabinet-type space. That one that looks like a small wood stove is at Walmart right now for $70 and they have so many of them that I'm sure the price will come down again soon. We have one similar to that in the bedroom that we bought this time of year at Lowes for $59. Its a Dimplex and it puts out twice the heat of the larger fireplace that came with our rig in the living room. The big one in the living room has 240 watts of light bulbs and I think that is why the heater is restricted to less heat output.

We went the same route as jimwooster and 2RVers. We didn't really have a cabinet we wanted to give up. Also with our layout, the little "wood heater" option worked best for us. We have accessorized our 5er with some lodge style decor items, so the wood heater goes well with our decor.

We have been well satisfied with the little heater.

This looks nice if you have the room for it.
