OK all, this one's pretty simple. There's been lots of pieces of threads, comments, and rumors about TC's on the new style Chev/GMC PU's (GMT900). Has anyone actually either had this problem or even maybe started a list of which TC's will and will not fit? The problem as described is the reinforcing rib at the rear of the bed just in front of the tailgate (on long beds). This allegedly interferes with bathroom floor extensions on some TC's. Let's post 'em here for everyone to see (and hopefully GM!! as well)... Now let's go camping!!!

I just purchased a Six-Pac camper and the factory notched out the rear corners so that the camper would sit on the bed of the truck properly. I only have about 1/2" clearance between the lower portion of the reinforcing ribs and the sides of the camper. Aside from the notched corners it fits fine, tight but fine. I could have avoided the notches if I raised the bottom of the bed using plywood or some of that foam insulation.

I have a new 2008 Silverado 1/2T. I had to trim the camper boxes at the rear of the camper a little. It took a few minutes with a jigsaw, and the camper fits great now.

I also built a 3/4" insulated floor to elevate the camper for the new 21" deep bed.

I'm very happy with the whole setup now and I'm now underweight (actually weighed at the truck stop) thanks to my camper's lightweight, and the truck's 7000lb GVWR.

Prior to buying a new truck, I considered Ford, GM, Dodge, as well as 1/2t & 3/4T. This one met my needs and had the best fuel economy.
